Galaxy J3 Cannot Make Or Receive Calls
Problem: Hi, I have had the J3 for a couple of months now, and recently I have been having an intermittent problem whereby I cannot make or receive calls. I was on Giffgaff and then I switched to EE however the problem has not been solved. I have tried various troubleshooting guides such as restarting, flight mode, removing SIM, mobile network settings but nothing seems to work. I have taken my SIM card out and put it into another phone, and it works on a different phone. If you could get back to me as soon as possible, it would be highly appreciated.
Solution: Since you have already made sure that the problem is not caused by an issue with the SIM card or the network then we will proceed with troubleshooting the phone. Follow the steps listed below to fix this problem.
- Check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Galaxy J3 Not Able To Receive Calls
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 and ever since I changed my sim to a new BT sim card I haven’t been able to receive any calls. For example if someone tried to call me it would say this person isn’t available on their phone and on my phone it will say that I’ve had a missed call even though it never rang! I’ve tried seeing if it works in safe mode but it does the same thing. What do you think is wrong??
Solution: Have you tried checking if the issue occurs when you use a different SIM card? This way you can check if the problem is caused by an issue with the SIM card since you mentioned that this happened when you got a new SIM. In case the problem is SIM card related you will need to have this checked or replaced. In case the problem is not caused by an issue with the SIM then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Make sure that your phone is getting a good signal from your network.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Galaxy J3 Can’t Be Heard During Calls
Problem: Recently when I receive a call, I can hear the caller, but they can’t hear me and the phone seems to lock up and it’s hard to cancel the call. This happens when connected to different Wi-Fi networks. Once I call them back, they can then call me without difficulty.
Solution: It looks like this issue is caused by a software glitch. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. In case it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Galaxy J3 Unfortunately Process.Com.Android.Phone Error
Problem: I usually keep (2) backups in my J3, separated by about a month apart. Although the backups work fine while performing a ‘new’ backup, or restoring from either of the 2 stored backups I now also get the “unfortunately process. com.android. phone error” when I perform either operation (backup or restore)……..the result is the phone is then unable to make or receive calls, UNTIL I put into “Airplane” mode, do a restart, re-enable my wi-fi calling mode again, etc which seems to work fine to fix the problem for the time being…..I guess that I could live with the error, BUT!!!!!!. I’ve tried forcing a stop to the Backup App, clearing both the “data”, and “cache” install updates back to factory setting. None of this works! There is also an ‘update’ that is required to be reinstalled to be able to use the App, again. I don’t sync enable to Google for any backups, but I Now notice a slight change in the folder contents: where there use to be a cookie of 33 bytes (tcookieid) + the 2 backups, the cookie is now gone, and my Google Account or some other Account (if I prefer) is now present + the 2 backups. Any ideas about “how” I might resolve the problem, without a complete reset? (last thing I want to do……). I have a suspicion that maybe it’s now SIM card related, perhaps? I haven’t tried removing the card, and re=inserting OR a brand new card…….maybe, nothing to do with the problem. There was a software update several months, ago, but there was NO PROBLEM, then………Thank you for any help. Regards
Solution: For this particular problem you should try to clear the cache and data of the phone app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs. In case it does then you should consider doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
