LG V20 Screen Has Vertical Lines

Problem: Hello, I have a LG V20.  I stuck it in my bra while berry picking, and got sweat on it. However, it seemed fine until I got home. About an hour after I stopped picking, and the phone was in a cool home, I noticed a vertical line on the screen.   Then more lines. Then white/cloudy screen with lines. Then unable to turn off or use the power button. Within another hour, the phone was completely unusable. I removed the battery about 2 hours ago. When I put it back together, it still doesn’t work.   Seems to be on, but touchscreen and power button don’t respond. Any suggestions? Thank you for your assistance.

Solution: It looks like the phone might be suffering from water damage. The best thing that you can do right now is to remove the battery the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture present in the phone. Once this is done reinsert the battery then try turning on the phone. If needed you should charge the phone first with its wall charger for at least 20 minutes.

In case the issue still persists then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

LG V20 Black Screen of Death BSoD

Problem: Hello, i have an LG V20 with t-mobile carrier. On July 7th early morning i received a software update and i update it. It works fine and no error. At the afternoon, suddenly my battery completely drained and then i try to charge it. After leaving it charging for more than half hours, my phone is entering a bsod state. What made me confuse is, my screen stay dark but i can still access my phone. So i use my phone like a blind person, everything works fine but the screen stays dark. I’ve been trying all the method to exit bsod but no method are works for me. Is it a hardware issue on the lcd?

Related Problem: I put my t mobile V20 on a table to charge. It was working fine. A Lil later I found my phone on the floor and the screen was stuck on black but notification lights were on and I could hear my phone powering on and hear vibration. I Google how to fix my problem and I found a forum that said to push the volume up button, the power button and home button all at the same time until the little green reboot guy pops up. I never saw him pop up and now my phone wont even power on

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the issue is caused by a software glitch .To do this you will need to start the phone in recovery mode and if the screen works in this mode you should do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

  • Turn off the phone
  • Press and hold “Power button” and “Volume Down button” for several seconds until LG logo appear on the screen.
  • When LG logo appear, release both buttons for one seconds and then press them up once again. Keep it up until the phone boot into “Recovery Mode” and when it does, you can release it once again.
  • In Recovery Mode do a factory reset then restart the phone

In case the screen remains black in recovery mode or if the issue still persists then the display of the phone is most likely damaged already. You will need to have this checked at a service center.

LG V20 Screen Flickers When It Is Cold

Problem: My LG V20 works fine except the display. It usually isn’t too much of an issue but when my phone gets very cold, the screen begins flickering green rapidly. Occasionally the display won’t work if the phone is too cold, and when I turn my brightness down a certain amount it will begin flickering. It isn’t too much of an issue for me, but is this harmful to my phone, and is there a way I could fix the issue?

Solution: Unfortunately this appears to be a hardware related problem already. You can verify this further by doing  a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. In case the issue still persists then this can only be fixed at a service center.
