LG G6 Screen Is Not Working After Drop

Problem: I’ve dropped my Lg G6 before. But after dropping in onto concrete yesterday i’ve been having some issues. The first was that although i had full cell service it acted as if it didn’t want to load anything. Afterwords the screen started getting snowy. Like what you would see on an old television of you hadn’t qued the channel up correctly, the picture is there, but its graying. The third problem that arose was my screen would melt. Everything on my screen would be copied and moved up and down my screen so much so i couldn’t read the words that i was scrolling down. Afterwords i tried pressing on different parts of the screen to try and fix the problem to no avail. I’ve done two soft resets. But i didn’t want to factory reset it since the soft reset has not worked. Now my phone isn’t doing any of the above, but still has a severely discolored right top corner. I’ve had the phone a year and didnt want to replace if i didn’t have too.

Solution: It’s very likely that the drop might have already damaged the phone display. You can however check if this is caused by a software glitch by performing the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Is the display discolored in this mode? If it isn’t then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset immediately check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Screen Is Yellow And Flickers

Problem: my device is a G6 and I’ve had it for a couple of months now. for about a month now, about 3/4 of my screen would turn yellow and would flicker as well- I can’t see anything I’m on, just this yellowish block covering my screen. When I put my brightness on low, my entire screen would go pale yellow and green so I am not able to really use the device because I can’t see anything! It’s really frustrating and Im facing these problems now as I’m writing this. the only way to stop this temporarily is to turn of my phone or open my camera but then the problem returns shortly after :/ When I take a screenshot, the picture displays a completely normal screen when in fact, my screen has turned yellow- the screenshot didn’t capture any problems. I have spoken to other people with similar problems and I think perhaps Im facing these difficulties because of the Android itself because no iphone users have come across this. I’m really confused and would really appreciate it if you could tell me why this happens and maybe find a solution

Solution: It looks like the display of the phone is faulty. The best way to check if this is a hardware or software problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then you should have the phone repaired at a service center.

LG G6 Cracked Screen After Drop

Problem: I feel cheated, mis sold and lied to. The LG advert where the phone was put through rigorous tests, bending the phone, dropping the phone, put to extreme tests. May I add, the Gorilla Glass! My phone was dropped, knocked out of my hand at less than 30 inches from a laminate floor. The damage was cracked right top corner and bottom left of the of the front screen. Also a hairline fracture. I have always been a loyal customer to LG devices and many of my friends have too. I’m now looking at a repair bill from £160 to £200. Please could you help me resolve this. Regards

Solution: Unfortunately, since the screen already has a crack then the only way to fix this is to have the whole display assembly of the phone replaced at a service center.

LG G6 Screen Is Black But Phone Still Works

Problem: Hello, My LG G6 screen is black and I can not do anything about it. When I connect it on charge, it accepts to show the charge light . Even when I call my number the phone rings but the screen won’t display anything, still remains black. Have tried rebooting and forcefully restart it but still nothing. Plz help me, really frustrated

Solution: In most cases like this the problem is caused by a faulty display assembly. To check if this is the case start your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could just be caused by a software glitch. You will then need to do a factory reset in this mode Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above step fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
