LG G6 Screen Is Green And Flickering

Problem: I have an LG G6 and until a few hours ago, my phone was working fine. I dropped it and now when I try to turn it on, it flickers then a green screen comes on. I can’t get past the green screen and the flickering. I am on call for work Sunday afternoons through friday mornings and I can’t be without my phone. Please help if possible.

Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged the display or other component inside the phone. The best thing you can do right now is to check if the screen issue remains the same if the phone is started in recovery mode. In case the screen works in this mode then there’s a chance that the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will need to do a factory reset in this mode to fix the problem. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

In case the above step fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Touchscreen Works On Its Own

Problem: Looking for cure for screen jitter, unwanted zooming in and out, and unwanted inputs (text entries and app starts). Had two episodes of it, the first occurring when I was in France. Cured it by a Factory Data Reset – with manual reloading of all apps and data (such as contacts). Recently I downloaded a PDF file from an offshore site – and the ,problem returned – worse than before. It is not continuous, but comes and goes. This time I again performed a Factory Data Reset – but used Google’s Restore functions for data and apps. The problem remains – even in Safe Mode. I am sure that it is malware – but what to do about it? Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Solution: If this problem still occurs even in Safe mode then the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do  a factory reset from the recovery mode. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the display.

LG G6 Not Turning On After Drop

Problem: Hi I threw my daughter’s phone in anger and it’s not turning on . The body is slightly bent and left lower corner of the screen came out. It’s a LG G6 .. my daughter has really important stuff in her phone that can cause us great financial loss. This is a serious matter. Please help me.. I don’t care about the phone I just want the data stored inside.

Solution: If the phone has signs of physical damage then it’s likely that some components have been damaged by the drop. You can try connecting the phone to your computer with the LG PC Suite installed then check if you are able to backup the contents of the device. If the phone is not recognized by your computer then the only way to retrieve the data stored in the phone is to bring the device to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Has Black Screen

Problem: Hi, my LG G6 started showing a black screen yesterday, I didn’t notice any blue light. I tried restarting but it made no difference. I found your instructions and follows them, up to updating all apps , and it seemed I’d fixed it. For the rest of the day it was fine. However, this morning it’s doing it again. Black screen and I have to press power over and over.

Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. If you are able to backup your phone data before starting the phone in recovery mode then do so as your data will be deleted in the process. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. In case it does then this is already caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
