Note 4 Keypad Sound Stopped Working

Problem: Hi guys, it’s me again. After updating my Note4 (Model_SM-N910T_32GB_AT&T) to Lollipop 5.0.1, all the sounds/vibrations works fine except the “”CLICK”” sound on the Samsung keyboard stopped while typing, but the vibration works fine. Even the “”CLICK”” sound works when selecting the “”PREDICTIVE WORDS”” ??? This problem started after the latest “UPDATE””. I have “”ENABLED”” the key-tap sound in the settings are as follows: SETTINGS > Language and input > Samsung keyboard > key-tap feedback > Sound and Vibration > both “”ENABLED””. SETTINGS > Sounds and Notifications > Other Sounds > Samsung Keyboard > Sound when tapped and Vibrate when tapped > both “”ENABLED””. Please Help Me ???

Related Problem: Well, here is the problem: You know how whenever you tap the screen it makes a sound? Well it’s on the loudest level but for some reason it just stopped. What do I do? I have restarted it twice.

Related Problem: Hi, how r u. Hope u can help me. Just updated my Note4 to Lollipop 5.0.1 and since than the key-tap sound stopped.I went to SETTINGS > LANGUAGE and INPUT > SAMSUNG KEYBOARD > KEY-TAP FEEDBACK (Sound and Vibration) both are TICKED on). All the other sound/vibration work fine. PLEASE HELP ME

Solution: One common denominator among our readers having this issue is that it occurred right after a software update. Try checking the phone settings first before doing anything. Make sure the phone is not set to mute or vibrate. You should also check the sound and vibrate settings of the keyboard and make sure that it is enabled. Once you have made sure that the settings of your phone are correct but the issue still persists then start your phone in recovery mode then wipe its cache partition. If this fails to resolve the problem then proceed with backing up your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 4 No Sound On YouTube App

Problem: I can’t hear sound from YouTube, but I can hear when I receive text and calls. I was on instagram and I couldn’t hear it for a little while but then the sound came on. I still can’t hear anything from YouTube though. Please help.

Solution: If this issue occurs only on the YouTube app then it must be an issue with the app. Start the troubleshooting by going to the application manager then clear the cache and data of the YouTube app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.

You should also check if a third party app you installed in your phone is causing this problem by starting the device in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are disabled. Check your YouTube app in this mode. If you can hear a sound then the problem could be caused by a third party app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the above troubleshooting steps fail then I strongly suggest you do a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing this procedure.

Note 4 No Sound

Problem: It just started yesterday that my note 4 has no sounds at all. No rings or notification when someone calls or text me. No sounds even on my gps apps, when watching videos. Even when I restarts my phone, when the Samsung logo pops no sound at all. My volume settings, ringer tone & notifications are all on & bluetooth is off. My phone only has sounds when I plug in my headphone. Please help.

Solution: Try to check if your phone is stuck in headset mode first. Do you see a headset icon on the display even without a headset connected? If you see it then the phone is stuck in headset mode. You need to clean the audio port of your phone by blowing a can of compressed air into it. Inserting and removing a headset repeatedly on the phone’s audio port can also release the headset mode.

If the phone is not stuck in headset mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install anything yet. Check first if the sound works. If it doesn’t then this could already be a hardware related problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 4 No Sound After Software Update

Problem: After updating the software i hade static noise from my speakers and now there is no sound. I took my phone to my carrier and they updated the phone to an older version. But i had an critical software update notification so i updated the software again and now i have the same problem, no sound from speakers and mic doesn’t work

Solution: Try backing up your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check if the sound works. If the problem still remains then you need to revert back to the old software version as this seems to make the sound and mic of your phone work.

Note 4 No Sound During Calls

Problem: After screen and digitizer replacement, phone is having sound issues. When I make or receive a phone call the caller CAN hear me but I can’t not hear them. Issue is only with phone calls. If I’m on tango, glide or any other video messaging app then both parties can hear just fine

Solution: Try to check first if the problem is network related by placing a call in different locations. This way your phone will connect to different towers. If the problem disappears in other locations then this could be a network related issue.

It’s possible that this problem is caused by a third party app in your phone. To check if this is the case you need to start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while apps you downloaded are blocked. Try to make a call in this mode. If the issue does not occur then an app could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If you the problem still exists even in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done try to make a call. If the problem still remains then have your phone checked at an authorized service center.
