J3 Vibrates But Not Turning On

Problem: My screen shattered a week ago and now when I try to turn on my phone the phone vibrates but it doesn’t turn on. I already tried charging it and hold the power button and stuff like that but the phone still doesn’t turn on.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air then charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Try turning on the phone, If it doesn’t turn on and if you have the model with the removable battery then try replacing this battery with a new one.

In case the issue persists even after performing the steps listed above then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Text Messages Arrive Late

Problem: My Samsung galaxy j3 has an issue receiving text messages. People send me messages that show up hours later or sometimes days and months later. It’s like someone has tapped into my phone and are holding back my text messages. I went through all the troubleshooting tips you gave about sending/receiving text/sms/mms messages. I can send myself a text message with image and it comes through just fine. My mobile data is turned on, I get great signal. However I cannot access my APN, that whole section is greyed out so when I tap it nothing happens. What is holding up my text messages.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do is to isolate the network since it might be what’s causing this problem. Remove your SIM card from the phone then insert it in another phone. With the SIM card now inserted in another phone check if you still experience the same problem. If the issue remains then you should contact your carrier regarding this matter. In case the issue does not occur then the problem is on the phone side. Reinsert the SIM back to your phone then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the phone has a strong and stable network signal.
  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install any apps in your phone after the reset instead observe first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Won’t Charge

Problem: My husband got this phone for my 7 year old and she has a lot of games on downloaded. The phone was working fine and now it won’t charge and there is a message saying there is no SIM card, but the card is there. When I turn the phone it says it’s charging, but when I turn the phone back on, it says the opposite.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Try charging the phone. If the issue still persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

Regarding the No SIm error that you are getting listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to do.

  • Remove the SIM card from your phone then carefully inspect it for any damages.
  • Insert the SIM in another phone then check if the same issue occurs. If it does then you will need to replace the SIM.
  • Clean the SIM slot of your phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Insert the SIM back to your phone then check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 Has Black Screen

Problem: i bought my grandson a samsung J3 in october … he was listening to downloaded music off a automatic app on the phone when the screen went black. he hadn’t gotten service on it yet but was still using the phone. they have tried removing the battery and restarting it and it’s still a black screen. had them push both button on each side at same time and still nothing. the tab lights on the phone at bottom still light up but the screen is black. checked for water or moisture damage and there is none. If u could kindly help fix or solve the problem it would be greatly appreciated as this was my first major purchase n birthday present i bought my oldest grandson for the first time. u cant imagine how surprised my grandson was when he received this surprise from me his grandmother who hasn’t been much in his life due to i live in northern california and he lives in nebraska. i haven’t seen him in person since his birth and he just turned thirteen october eight. thank u for any n all support

Solution: The first thing that needs to be done in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also consider getting a new battery for the phone.

If the issue persists then try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase the phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J3 microSD Card Gets Jammed

Problem: Hello Droid Guy! My issue is with my phone. The MicroSD card latches into and unlatches from the card receptacle, but once unlatched, it jams in the slot and will not come out, almost as if a contact on the card has been bent up into the path like a hook, and is catching on something. When attempting to force it out I need to avoid damage to the card receptacle. I have tried sliding a thin piece of plastic alongside the card in order to guide the card out past the obstruction, but I an unable to insert the guide past whatever is causing the obstruction. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Solution: Try using a different microSD card in your phone to eliminate the possibility of the current card causing the problem. In case the issue persists then you need to have the microSD card slot of the phone checked at a service center.

J3 Factory Reset When Display Not Working

Problem: I have got a J3, and have smashed the screen (not the top screen, it’s almost as though the screen underneath the main screen has smashed). The device still turns on but the screen doesn’t come on. Before I can send my phone to be repaired, I want to do a factory reset as there are things on there that I don’t want anyone to see. How can I do a factory reset without needing the display?

Solution: You can try starting the phone from the recovery mode then do a factory reset from here since you only need to use the physical buttons to perform this action. However, if you can’t see anything on the screen then you won’t be able to do the factory reset.
