The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is one of the premium Android smartphones that has a great camera allowing it to take amazing photos even in low light conditions. A lot of people right now are using this phone to upload their videos or photos to the popular social media networks such as Instagram, Facebook, and snapchat just to name a few.
While sharing photos is quite easy to do today there are instances when you might want to hide some of your phone photos from prying eyes. This can easily be done on this phone without installing a third party app from the Google Play Store. All you need to do is to setup the Secure Folder feature of the phone and you are good to go.
To setup the Secure Folder of the phone
- Tap on Apps
- Tap Settings
- Tap on Lock screen and security
- Tap Secure Folder
- You will need to sign into your Samsung account. Choose SIGN IN
- Enter your Samsung Account details, then choose SIGN IN. If you don’t have a Samsung account then choose CREATE ACCOUNT. Just follow the steps to create an account)
- Choose the lock method you wish to use for your Secure Folder
- A shortcut to the Secure Folder will be added to your Home and Apps screen.
Once you have set this up it’s now easy to hide the photos on your S8 by opening the Secure Folder app then tapping on add files. The files that you add will be transferred from their original location to the Secure Folder of the phone.
For added security you can make the Secure Folder shortcut hidden from the home screen.

- Tap Lock screen and security
- Tap Secure Folder
- Tap Hide Secure Folder
- Tap OK to confirm
To unhide the Secure Folder icon
- Tap Apps
- Tap Settings
- Tap Lock screen and security
- Tap Secure Folder
- Tap the Secure Folder icon at the bottom of the screen, then enter your unlock pattern, pin, or password
