How To Fix The Samsung Galaxy A30 Moisture Detected Error Issue

One common error message that will appear on your phone display if you get your phone wet is the moisture detected error. When this occurs you won’t be able to charge your phone as this is a protective measure to ensure that the components inside the device don’t get short circuited. The best thing to do in this scenario is to wipe the exterior part of the phone with a soft cloth. If there is liquid present in the phone charging port then use a hair dryer to remove this liquid. You can also set aside the device in a cool dry place to let the liquid evaporate naturally. Once the phone is dry try to check if the issue still occurs.

In case the issue persists or if the problem occurs even if the phone has not been in contact with water then you should proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

Perform a soft reset

A soft reset is usually performed when the phone is unresponsive however it should also work in this case as it will refresh the phone software which in turn will eliminate minor software glitches.

  • Press and hold the Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Check if the Samsung Galaxy A30 moisture detected error issue still occurs

Start the phone in Safe Mode

There are cases when  you might have downloaded an app from the Google Play Store that is causing this problem. This usually occurs when the app has bugs or is having compatibility problems with your device.  To check if this is what is happening right now you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.
  • When “SAMSUNG” appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see “Safe Mode”.

If the moisture detected error does not occur in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

To find out what the exact app is you will need to do a trial and error method. Start the phone normally then uninstall an app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. In case it does then repeat this step until the issue no longer occurs. The last app you uninstalled is most likely the culprit.

Wipe the cache partition

It’s possible that corrupted system cached data is causing this problem. It’s therefore a good idea to delete this data as the phone will just rebuild this when it starts again.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
  • When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘yes’ and press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Perform a factory reset

One last troubleshooting step to consider if you are still experiencing the Samsung Galaxy A30 moisture detected error issue is a factory reset. This will bring your phone back to its original factory condition. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in the process so make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.
  • With no apps installed in the phone, try to check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already.
