How To Fix The Samsung Galaxy A10e Won’t Charge Issue

Users often submit questions to our “Mailbag” looking for advice. Here’s one from our reader Michael.

I am having an issue with the charging of my A10e Samsung phone.  When I attempt to charge the phone an image of the end of a usb cable cord appears on the screen with a yellow triangle having an exclamation point.  When these images appear, the phone to charge very slowly.  Sometimes the images go away and the phone will charge to 100%, but not always.  Could you please tell me how to eliminate these images and make my phone charge without these problems.

How to Fix Samsung A10e Charging Problem

The image of the end of a USB cable cord with a yellow triangle and an exclamation point is a warning sign that your phone is not charging properly. This can be caused by a number of things, including:

  • A faulty charging cable or adapter
  • A dirty or clogged charging port
  • A software bug or glitch
  • A hardware problem with the phone’s charging circuitry

If you see this warning sign, here are some things you can try to fix the charging issue on your Samsung A10e:

  1. Check the charging cable and adapter. Make sure that you are using the original charging cable and adapter that came with your phone. If you are using a third-party cable or adapter, it may not be compatible with your phone and may cause charging problems. If you don’t have a backup charging cable, you can get one here.
  2. Clean the charging port. The charging port on your phone may be dirty or clogged with dust or debris, which can prevent the phone from charging properly. Use a toothpick or a cotton swab to gently clean the charging port.
  3. Update your phone’s software. A software update may fix any bugs or glitches that are causing the charging problem. To check for updates, go to Settings > System > Software update.
  4. Reset your phone. If all else fails, you can try resetting your phone. This will erase all of your data, so make sure to back up your phone before you do it. To reset your phone, go to Settings > General management > Reset > Factory data reset.
  5. Get Professional Help. If you have tried all of these steps and your phone is still not charging properly, consider taking it to a local licensed repair shop or contact Samsung support.

Here are some additional tips to help you extend the battery life of your Samsung A10e:

  • Turn off features that you are not using. For example, turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS when you are not using them.
  • Lower the screen brightness.
  • Set the screen timeout to a shorter amount of time.
  • Turn on power saving mode.
  • Avoid using your phone in hot environments.
  • Do not fully discharge the battery. It is best to keep the battery between 20% and 80% charged.
  • Replace the battery if it is old and worn out.

It is always a good idea to make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version before doing any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below. If an update is available then I suggest that you download and install it first. This minimizes the possibility of the problem being caused by an outdated software version.

Make sure the charger unit is working

The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of the issue being caused by a defective charging unit. There are two parts to a charger and these are the USB charging cord and the adapter. The cord usually gets damaged easily so its best to try using a different charging cord. You should also try using a different adapter to charge your phone.

Charge from a different power outlet

There are times when this problem can be caused by a power outlet that is not working. To eliminate this possibility you should try plugging the charger to a different power outlet. Take note that it’s best not  to plug the adapter to an extension cord but instead plug it directly to the power outlet if you are experiencing this issue.

Check the phone charging port

The presence of dirt or debris stuck in the phone charging port can usually block the charger from charging the phone. Make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any debris by blowing air to it. In case the charging port of the phone is wet then you should dry this first by leaving the phone in a cool area for a few hours. The liquid present in the port will evaporate naturally. Check if the Samsung Galaxy A10e won’t charge issue still occurs.

Try charging the phone from a computer USB port

If you are unable to charge the phone using its wall adapter then try connecting the phone to a computer USB port. Your phone will still charge this way but it is going to be a slower process. If your phone charges then there must be a problem with the fast charging pin of the phone charging port. You should have this checked at a service center.

Check if the problem occurs in Safe Mode

There are instances when an app you downloaded can cause this particular problem. To check if this is the case, you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Make sure that the device is off.
  • Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.
  • When ‘SAMSUNG’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode’.

If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

The phone system cached data is used to speed up the access to your phone apps. Sometimes this data can get corrupted which results in issues occurring on the device. To check if a corrupted cached data is causing the problem you will need to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
  • When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘yes’ and press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Check if the Samsung Galaxy A10e won’t charge issue still occurs.

Perform a factory reset

One last troubleshooting step you should consider is a factory reset. This will revert your phone back to its original factory condition. Take note that this procedure will erase your phone data.

  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Check if the Samsung Galaxy A10e won’t charge issue still occurs. If the phone still does not charge then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
