How To Fix The Oppo R15 Won’t Turn On Issue

One major issue that you might encounter with your phone is when it does not turn on. This can become quite a frustrating problem especially if you have data stored in your phone that you want  to access. In some cases this can be caused by a faulty hardware component which will need a trip to the service center. In other cases this can be caused by a software glitch which can be fixed by a few troubleshooting steps.

Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to perform if you encounter this particular problem.

Make sure the phone battery is charged

What you will need to do first is to make sure that the problem isn’t caused by a drained battery. You should follow the following steps to charge your phone.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Fully charge the phone using its wall charger.
  • In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port in case charging using the wall charger fails to work.

Once the battery has been fully charged try turning on the phone.

Perform a soft reset

Your phone will usually store temporary data to improve its performance. This data however can sometimes get corrupted which can cause issues on your phone. If this is what’s causing the problem then you will need to refresh the phone software by doing a soft reset. This will usually resolve issue caused by minor software glitches.

  • Press and hold the Power key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

Sometimes an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store can cause this particular issue. This can be because of bugs in the app or due to incompatibility issues between the app and your phone. To check if this is what’s causing the problem you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn Off your phone.
  • Press and Hold the Power Button.
  • Release Power button and hold Volume Down Key when you see the Oppo animation.

You will have to do a trial and error method to find out what app is causing this problem. Uninstall an app then check if the issue occurs. Repeat this until the issue no longer occurs. The last app you uninstalled is most likely what is causing the problem.

Wipe the cache partition

There are instances when a corrupted system cached data can cause this problem. It’s therefore a good idea to delete this data as the phone will just rebuild this data when it starts again.

  • Press down the Power key and select the Power off option. If the screen is frozen or unresponsive, you can hold down the Power key for several seconds until the device switches off.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power keys for a few moments.
  • Release all buttons when the OPPO logo appears.
  • Select language.
  • Select Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.
