How To Fix The Huawei P Smart Won’t Turn On Issue

A major issue that can occur on your phone is when it does not turn on. There are several factors that can cause this problem but basically it either be a hardware or software issue. If this is caused by a faulty hardware component then your best option is to have the device fixed at a service center. If however the problem is caused by a software glitch then this can be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

Charge the phone

The first thing you will need to do is to check if the problem is caused by a battery that has no charge. Make sure that the phone battery is fully charged so that we can immediately eliminate a drained battery issue.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Fully charge the phone using its wall charger.
  • In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port in case charging using the wall charger fails to work.

Perform a soft reset

Try to refresh the phone software to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a minor software glitch. This can be done easily by simply restarting the device.

  • Press and hold the Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

There are cases when an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store will cause issues on the phone when it is installed. To check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

There are cases when the cached data stored in the dedicated partition of the phone can become corrupted. When this happens this will usually cause certain issues to occur on the phone. To eliminate the possibility that this is what’s causing the problem you will have to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

  • Turn off your phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume UP button along with Power button on your  device simultaneously for a few seconds
  • The phone will enter the stock recovery mode
  • Use volume buttons to highlight ‘wipe cache partition’ and use power key to select it
  • Reboot the system once the process is completed

Perform a factory reset
