S5 “Message Not Sent, Review Message” Error

Problem: Hi there, Came across your site when looking to resolve a problem on my phone. Had a Samsung Galaxy s5 now for around a year and had this problem a couple of time but it automatically sorted itself but it can take up to a few days and I would like it sorted permanently. Today I was sending messages from my phone as normal and also receiving the replies as normal too, then all of a sudden every time I tried to send a message it says ‘ Message not sent, review message’ so I go back on the message to send and click resend and the same message comes up again. Any help would be brilliant.

Solution: Try to reboot your phone first then see if the error message still pops up. This procedure refreshes your phone and resets your connection to the network. If the problem is caused by the messaging app or by your phone connection to the network then the reboot will most likely resolve this issue.

If the reboot fails to resolve the issue then check if your phone your phone signal. If you don’t have any signal then you won’t be able to send any text messages. You should also check if your account has an active text message subscription.

You should also verify if this issue is app related by using a different app in sending a message. If you are using the stock messaging app of your phone then try using Hangouts.

If the issue is app related then proceed with clearing the cache and data of your messaging app.

  • From any Home screen, tap Apps
  • Tap Settings
  • Scroll to ‘APPLICATIONS,’ then tap Application manager
  • Swipe to the All screen
  • Tap the desired application
  • Tap Clear data and then tap OK
  • Tap Clear cache

S5 Delay In Sending Text Messages

Problem: Hello, I have a galaxy s5 and have had it for over a year. Recently I did the software update and since then I have had problems. Problems such as I need to update regular apps and they will get 97% done and just stop, outgoing messages take forever to send and I may even get a response back before it shows my message even being sent. I also have frequently notice message coming in are delayed, the message will say what time they sent it to me but it doesn’t show up until a couple hours later. I have almost 4 gigs of space left, tried clearing cache. I even powered off and did the wipe cache something and rebooted. Tried turning off and taking battery and Sim out and nothing helps. My phone is slow to react. If I swipe to open it may take a couple times and even typing messages etc it may freeze for a second and then catches back up. I downloaded antivirus scanner and even a booster that helps stop apps from running in the background if I’m not using them. Any ideas???

Solution: If you have already cleared the app cache and wiped the cache partition of your phone without any results then the next step is to perform a factory reset. Make sure to back up your phone data before proceeding.

  • Turn OFF the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

S5 Automatically Converts SMS To MMS

Problem: Hi there, I’ve been searching online all day and I can’t seem to find an answer to my two problems…
  1. Just today my phone started automatically changing from sms to mms when I open up certain contacts to text…but not others. Without typing a thing it gives the “converting to mms” message. How can I fix this?
  2. In the past 2wks the music and video players will randomly pause in the middle of a song/video. I’ve turned off all the hand gesture and auto mute functions on the phone. It’s rather annoying to have to keep hitting play every few minutes. I should mention my phone is the S5. Thanks!
Solution: For the first problem you should set the MMS creation mode setting to Free from Restricted. Assuming you are using the stock messaging app just open the app then go to settings and set Creation mode to Free. This allows your phone to send SMS that have more than 160 characters. For the second issue you should try wiping the cache partition of your phone as this issue may be caused by a corrupt temporary data.
  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When the phone vibrates, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

S5 Cannot Send Text Message With Photo Attached

Problem: Wife has a Samsung Galaxy S5 (AT&T), Android Version 5.0. (I have exact phone as well). Using the stock Messages app (Ver 1.0.0). Unable to send a text message with a photo attached. Both from a stored image or taking a photo within the messaging app. I have compared all settings with my phone as far as I can tell we are matched. Before 5.0 didn’t have the problem. Have taken it to AT&T store and Samsung kiosk at Best Buy with no success. I have cleared the phones cache, reboot, etc. I have not cleared the cache or data from within the app as I am concerned I will remove something important. Got any ideas?

Solution: Assuming your mobile data is turned on and you have a data subscription the problem may be with a misconfigured APN setting. Since your carrier is AT&T try to check the AT&T APN settings of your phone and compare it with the one your carrier is using. Make the necessary changes if you see a different setting in your phone.

  • Access the Settings menu.
  • Locate and select Wireless & Networks or More Networks.
  • Select Mobile Networks.
  • Select Access Point Names.

  1. Samsung S5 (originally Verizon, opened) can’t send/receive pictures/multimedia even APN to T-Mobile is selected

  2. What I do is. Connect to wifi. Get a text messaging app like text me or text now. And call the number. The call would use tower signal. And it would go through to the app call using wifi. And for some reason if kicked my signal for text messaging back on. And works till I restart the cell. Then you just do same thing.
