Troubleshooting Galaxy S10e that can’t connect to WiFi networks
First off, if you are trying to connect to a public WiFi hotspot, there’s always a possibility that the administrator of such network already changed the password. So, when your phone tries to reconnect automatically, it can no longer obtain an IP address due to login issues. It’s best that you ask the owner of the network for the new login credentials for you to be able to reconnect to the network.
However, if your phone can’t connect to WiFi network that you own and you know that the login credentials haven’t been changed, then the problem could either be with the network devices or your phone. You must perform some troubleshooting procedures and with all that being said, here’s what you should do:
Restart all your network devices
Before you troubleshoot your phone, it’s better and much easier to troubleshoot your modem or router. If you’re wondering if it’s really important to do so, well, yes it is because there are times when the router has to be power-cycled to be able to broadcast signal properly. Don’t worry, you don’t need to do complicated procedures for this. Just follow these steps and everything may work properly after that:
- Unplug your modem and/or router from the wall outlet.
- Leave your network devices powered down for a minute or two and at the same time, reboot your Galaxy S10e.
- Plug your network equipment back into the wall outlet and wait until it becomes active.
- Now, allow your phone to reconnect to the network.
If your Galaxy S10e still can’t connect to WiFi network after this, then the problem could really be with your phone. Move on to the next procedure.

Reset network settings if phone can’t connect to WiFi
It’s time to troubleshoot your phone since the problem still occurs even after restarting your network devices. In this step, we will try to reset all network settings in your device and this will have the following changes:
- Stored Wi-Fi networks will be deleted.
- Paired Bluetooth devices will be deleted.
- Background data sync settings will be turned on.
- Data restrictive settings in applications that were manually turned on/off by the customer will be reset to the default setting.
- Network selection mode will be set to automatic.
And this is how you do it:
- From the Home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the Apps tray.
- Tap Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset network settings.
- Tap RESET SETTINGS.
- If you have set up a PIN, enter it.
- Tap RESET SETTINGS. Once complete, a confirmation window will appear.
Only the mobile data will be left enabled after this so enable WiFi and allow your phone to scan the area for available hotspots. Once found, let your phone reconnect to the network and make sure you enter the correct credentials. If your phone still can’t connect to WiFi after this, then the problem could already be with the firmware. Try the next solution.

Delete the system cache so it will be replaced with a new one
The system cache is created by Android itself when your phone first booted up. It helps the system make your phone run smoothly but when the cache gets corrupted, performance issues may occur here and there. And this problem could actually be just one of the results. To rule this possibility out, here’s what you need to do:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
- An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press Power key to select.
- Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
After doing this, try to forget the network you were trying to connect to and then let your phone re-scan and reconnect to the same network. If it still can’t connect to WiFi network, then it’s time for the ultimate solution.
Perform the Master Reset on your Galaxy S10e
At this point, it’s necessary to reset your phone. As long as this problem isn’t caused by physical or liquid damage, a master reset will definitely fix it. But before the reset, make sure to create a backup of your important files and data first as they will be deleted and you may no longer be able to recover them after that. Moreover, make sure to remove your Google and Samsung accounts from your phone so that you won’t be locked out after the reset.
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the green Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
- Press Power button to select.
- Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes — delete all user data’ is highlighted.
- Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
- When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.
