Problem: My issue now is I have a Galaxy A6 which randomly shuts down. I have read and performed your suggestions to no success on resetting the phone and have done a total factory reset.  Through the process of elimination I think I may have found the root of the issue lying in my location services. I have noticed, I don’t have any issues when location services are Off. But, sure as the sunrise, when I activate my location services you can bet your britches the outcome (shutdown of my phone) is as guaranteed as the sun sets.

Solution: Before performing any troubleshooting steps it’s best to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If an update is available then you should download and install it in your phone.

This particular issue can be caused by several factors. One of the main reason why this is happening is due to a software glitch. There’s also the possibility that this can be caused by a faulty hardware component. What we will be doing right now is to eliminate the software related factors that can be causing this problem.

The next thing to do is to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. This can be done by starting the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

Your device will store cached data in a special partition. This data helps apps run faster making for a better mobile experience. There are however instances when this cached data can become corrupted and can cause issues with the device. To check if this is what’s causing the problem you should wipe the cache partition of the phone.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
