How To Fix Samsung Galaxy A6 Is Not Fast Charging

Problem: Hi, I read the issue another person had with sending and receiving text.  I too am having difficulty: Sending – when I press send sometime it take a minute or more to send or  I will get a message in red – Message not sent, Tap to Resend sometimes it sends and sometimes it doesn’t and I will have to delete the message and start over.Receiving – There are times I see a message is coming in and in lieu of the message there is a blue circle with a arrow pointing down, like it is going to download.  I tap the circle and sometimes the message downloads and I can see it and sometimes it doesn’t. Are these issues carrier transmission? Also if I need to clean my Cache, will I loose my text messages?

Solution: Before troubleshooting this problem it’s best to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If an update is available make sure to download and install it first.

Check if the phone has poor signal reception

Sometimes this problem can be caused by signal related issues. If you are in an area with a spotty signal that does not reach its maximum bars then there’s a possibility that this problem will occur. Try going to a different location where the signal strength that the phone will be getting is full then check if the issue still occurs.

Clear the cache and data of the messaging app

The messaging app of the phone will usually have cached data which can usually become corrupted. When this happens you will experience issues sending or receiving text messages. To eliminate the possibility that this is what’s causing the problem you should try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app from the application manager. Your text messages will not be deleted when you perform this step.

  • From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  • Go to Settings then Apps
  • Ensure All apps is selected (upper-left).
  • Locate then select the Messaging app
  • Tap Storage.
  • Tap CLEAR CACHE.
  • Go back to the Home screen then go to Settings- Device maintenance – Storage
  • Tap CLEAN NOW.

Check if the problem occurs in Safe Mode

There are instances when an app you downloaded can cause this particular problem. The best way to check if this is the case is to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key past the screen with the device name.
  • When ‘SAMSUNG’ appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  • Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • Safe mode will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode’.

If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

Your phone will usually store cached data in a special partition in the device. This data helps apps run faster however there are instances when it can become corrupted and can cause issues with the device. To check if this is what’s causing the problem you should wipe the cache partition of the phone.

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key.
  • When the Android logo displays, release all keys (‘Installing system update’ will show for about 30 – 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition’.
  • Press the Power key to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘yes’ and press the Power key to select.
  • When the wipe cache partition is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

Perform a factory reset

One last troubleshooting step you should perform in case the above steps fails to fix the problem is a factory reset. This will revert the phone back to its original factory condition. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this step.

  • Make sure that the phone is off.
  • Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key.
  • When the device logo screen displays, release only the Power key
