One of the problems that you might encounter on an Android device is when the screen does not work. This is usually called as the Black Screen of Death issue as you will not be able to interact with your phone. If this issue happened after you dropped your phone then it’s very likely that this is caused by a damaged hardware component. If this just happens randomly then there’s a possibility that it is caused by a software glitch. Listed below are the necessary troubleshooting steps that you need to do for this particular problem.

One of the main causes as to why the phone screen will not work or why the phone does not seem to turn on is because its battery is drained. To eliminate this possibility you will have to make sure that the battery is fully charged.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in it.
  • Fully charge the phone with a charging cord and wall charger that have been tested to work on another device.
  • If the phone does not charge with a wall charger then try charging the device from a computer USB port.

Once the battery is fully charged check if the screen of the phone will work.
