M8 Negative Display

Problem: Hi Guys, I woke up this morning and everything has turned negative like the effect filter in the camera settings, however it is in all areas of my phone including this email! I have  explored all areas of my display settings with no success. Can you help?

Solution: You may have accidentally activated the negative colors feature of your phone. Just go to Settings – Accessibility – Negative Colors then turn this feature off.

M8 Sense Has Stopped After Software Update

Problem: I have just downloaded the latest update ,but now have a screen that says sense home has stopped and asks me to send an error report . It will not send and I cannot get on to my main screens.

Solution: Since this issue occurred right after a software update it is most likely caused by conflicts in your phone data. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone first and see if this resolves the problem.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down.
  • Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.
  • Press the Volume Down key once to move the cursor from FASTBOOT to RECOVERY.
  • Press the Power key to begin the wipe.
  • The device displays the bootup screen followed by a phone with a red triangle.
  • Press the Up Volume key and Power key at the same time.
  • Press the Down Volume key three times to select Wipe cache partition.
  • Press the Power key to initiate the wipe.
  • Wait until the phone displays Cache wipe complete.
  • Press the Power key to select Reboot system now.

If the problem still persists then I suggest you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

  • Press and hold the Power button
  • Tap Power off.
  • Press and hold the Volume Down key.
  • Press and release the Power key to turn the phone on.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down key.
  • Release the Volume Down key when the three Android images appear on the bottom of the screen.
  • Press the Volume Down key twice to move the cursor from FASTBOOT to FACTORY RESET.
  • Press the Power key to perform the master reset.

M8 Home Screen Not Functioning

Problem: Good afternoon! My girlfriend has had an htc one m8 for a while now and just today finally updated her system. Now whenever she tries to use her phone though it repeatedly says that her home screen isn’t functioning and it won’t let her access any of her other apps, basically rendering the phone useless. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Solution: Try to restart your phone as this usually helps in this case. If the problem still occurs then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone.

If the issue still persists then you will have to do a factory reset since this occurred right after a software update. Make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

M8 No Display

Problem: I was receiving a text and the phone froze on me.  I hit the off button and now have no screen view.  The screen has a glow but I cant see anything on it, nor does it appear to be charging…. any help here? Thanks.

Solution: This may just be a glitch in your phone software. Try to press and hold the power and volume up buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone will then restart.

  5. You constantly tell people ” first backup your phone data”. You never say how. HTC sync manager stopped being supported in 2016. Also, being stuck in a boot loop , a computer does not recognize the phone when you plug it in. Thirdly, if your computer does find it, you can only save what you have aimed at your sd card. There is no folder for text messages, audio recordings, downloads, or calendars. You can retrieve Photosmart videos but nothing saved to the phone. The files saved will have long alpha numeric labels with no indication of what is inside. Some are unable to be opened by you or and must be reinstalled to a cell phone to be read. Only then do you find out that your backup is very incomplete.
