There is however a workaround which is to take the Xbox offline before starting the game then when the game is running re-enable the Xbox Series X online via the dashboard.
Solution 1: Go offline before starting Forza Horizon 4
One of the best ways to fix this issue is to make sure that the Xbox is offline before you start the game.

Set Xbox Series X offline
- Press the Xbox button.
You can find this on the top part of the controller.
- Select Profile & system.
This is the last tab on the right.
- Select Settings.
This will open the Settings menu of the console.
- Select General.
This is usually the first option on the left side of the screen.
- Select Network settings.
This will show you your Xbox network settings.
- Select Go offline.
This will take the Xbox offline.
After performing these steps go to your game library then run the game. Once it has launched go back to your network settings then go online again.
Solution 2: Manually update the game to prevent crashing issue on Xbox Series X
You should check if an update is already available that fixes this problem. You can manually do this by following these steps.
- Press the Xbox button on your controller.
- Select My games & apps.
- Select See all.
- Select Manage.
- Select Updates.
If an update to the game is available then you should select it to begin the download and installation.
Solution 3: Reinstall Forza Horizon 4
If you have already installed the latest update that has the fix for the crashing bug issue yet the game still crashes then you will have to uninstall the game and reinstall it again.
