Google’s Smart Displays to soon play your favorite Netflix content

It might be surprising, but Google’s Smart Displays never launched with the Netflix app. It was even more so surprising because its direct competitor, the Echo Show, was able to stream content via Amazon Video.

Things are changing for the Google Smart Display, though. A new report shows some changes to Google Assistant are starting to show support for various Netflix actions. This would mean the Smart Display, the Nest Hub, and similar devices would get this sort of functionality.

There has been no official announcement just yet, but you can see on the Google Assistant Support page that Netflix actions are showing as supported.

While we’re seeing documentation for it, the feature isn’t yet live yet. And we don’t know when it will be; however, with documentation now live, we would imagine that official support is imminent.
