Galaxy A51 Screen Flickering. Here’s The Fix!

Some owners reported that they’ve encountered the Galaxy A51 screen flickering issue. Such a problem can be an indication of a display problem but there were cases wherein the screen flickers due to an app or a firmware-related issue.

So in this post, I will guide you in troubleshooting your Galaxy A51 with a flickering screen problem. We will try to consider all possibilities and rule them out one after another until we can figure out what the problem really is and hopefully fix it.

Basically, what we need to do is rule out the possibility that it’s just a software problem. After doing so and the screen still flickers, then it means that the problem can be with the hardware. That said, continue reading as this article may be able to help you one way or the other.

Fixing An A51 With Screen Flickering Issue

Time Needed : 15 minutes

If this is just a software-related problem, you should be able to fix your phone by following this troubleshooting guide. Otherwise, you may need to get the phone checked if the flickering is really bad and affects your normal usage. With all that being said, here are the things you need to do.

  1. Force restart your Galaxy A51

If this problem occurred or started out of the blue without apparent reason, then it’s probably just a glitch in the system. Thus, the first thing that you have to do is the forced restart to refresh your phone’s memory and reload all services.

    1. To do so, press and hold the volume down button and the power key for 10 seconds. Your device will shut down and power back on.
    2. When the A51 logo shows, release both keys and wait until the reboot is finished.

Once your phone has finished rebooting, try to see if the screen still keeps flickering.

  2. Reset the settings of your device

If the first solution failed to get rid of the screen flickering issue on your Galaxy A51, then you should try resetting all the settings.

This will have the effects of a reset but none of your files and data will be deleted. Also, you don’t have to set up your phone again after this.

In other words, it’s effective in fixing minor firmware issues but it’s not a hassle like a reset. Here’s how it’s done:

    1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap the Settings icon.
    2. Find and tap General management.
    3. Touch Reset.
    4. Tap Reset settings.
    5. Tap the Reset settings button.
    6. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
    7. Finally, tap Reset.

Once the settings reset is done, try to see if your Galaxy A51 screen is still flickering or not. If the problem wasn’t fixed, then move on to the next solution.

  3. Factory reset your phone

The factory reset will be your last resort and if the screen flickering doesn’t go away after this, then it’s safe to assume that it’s a hardware problem. However, if it’s just a firmware issue, then a reset will be able to fix it.

Before the reset, make sure to create a copy of your important files and data as they will be deleted during the process.

When you’re ready, follow these steps to factory reset your Galaxy A51:

    1. Swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap the Settings icon.
    2. Find and tap General management.
    3. Touch Reset.
    4. Tap Factory data reset.
    5. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap Reset.
    6. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern.
    7. Finally, tap Delete all.

After the reset, set up your phone again and see if the screen flickering is gone. If it remained, then it’s time you have your phone checked because it can already be an issue with the hardware. But then again, if the flickering isn’t really that bad and you want to use your phone a little bit longer before sending it in for repair or replacement, then you can do that.

I hope that we’ve been able to help you fix the Galaxy A51 screen flickering issue.
