Fix Galaxy S10e with Black Screen of Death issue
You only need to perform a couple of procedures to fix the black screen of death issue that’s caused by any software-related problem. Check out the solutions below…
First solution: Try to Force Restart your Galaxy S10e
Most of the time, the Black Screen of Death issue is due to a firmware crash especially if there hasn’t been any significant activities that may have caused it. The system may crash from time to time and this occurs more often when there are a lot of apps running in the background already. When this happens, your phone may seem like it’s powered off with a black screen and no longer responds when you press and hold the power key.
The Forced Reboot procedure will fix this problem and make your phone respond again. It’s always been the most effective solution to fix a frozen device. To do it, press and hold the volume down button and the power key at the same time for 10 seconds or until the logo shows up.
After doing the procedure and the phone is still not responding, then try doing it a couple more times and if the problem persists, then try this instead:
- Press and hold the volume down button first and don’t let go.
- While holding it down, press and hold the power key as well.
- Now keep both keys held down together for 10 seconds or until the logo shows up.
The second procedure is the same as the first but this time we’re just making sure that you won’t press the power key first because that wouldn’t give you similar result. However, if your Galaxy S10e still has the black screen of death after doing these procedures, then move on to the next solution.
Second solution: Charge phone and force restart it
It is possible that the phone has drained its battery so before we continue, try to see if it responds to the charger by connecting it using the original cable. If the phone charges normally, allow it to reach at least 20% and see if it turns on.
On the other hand, if the phone doesn’t respond to its charger, then it’s very much possible that the firmware crashed just before the phone was forcibly shut down due to a drained battery. As you know, a drained battery is actually not a problem as most of the time the phone would immediately respond when it’s connected to the charger but if the firmware crashed, then you’re already dealing with a couple of minor issues that both result to an unresponsive device with a black screen of death problem. To address this, follow these simple steps:
- Make sure the charger is plugged into a working wall outlet.
- Connect the phone to the charger using the original cable.
- Regardless whether the phone shows the charging symbol or not, leave it connected to the charger for 10 minutes.
- After giving the device a few minutes to charge, press and hold the volume down button and the power key simultaneously for 10 seconds or until the logo shows on the screen.
The Black Screen of Death can be fixed with these solutions but if your Galaxy S10e is still not responding after doing these procedures, then it’s possible that the problem is already with the hardware. You have to bring the phone to the store or any Samsung Experience stalls so that a technician can check it for you.
