If you are always on the receiving end of spam or robo calls, you will be glad to know that your Samsung phone or tablet has a feature that can block them effectively. All you have to do is to enable Caller ID and spam protection in your Phone app. There’s no need to install any additional app for call blocking in your Samsung to work. Learn what exactly you need to do below.
Enabling Caller ID and spam protection to block robo calls on Samsung
Time needed: 2 minutes.
Follow the steps below to turn on the spam blocker in your Samsung device.
- Open the Phone app
You will find the Phone app in the Home screen or Apps Tray.
- Tap More options.
Tap on the 3 dots at the upper right corner.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Caller ID and spam protection.
Caller ID and spam protection option is enabled by default but to make sure, you can toggle the switch on and off.
- Enable Share name and number (optional).
If you enable this option, Hiya will share your name and number during calls so other people will see your information whenever you text or call them. This option can be left disabled if you are concerned about privacy.
Once Caller ID and spam protection feature is enabled, the system will kick in by working in the background in detecting fraudulent callers or spam calls. There’s no other actions that you need to take on your part. It’s that simple. If a number has been identified as spam, your phone will give you an option to block the number for good so it can’t call you ever again.
Keep in mind though that no system is perfect. New numbers may still be able to go through from time to time so if you continue to receive spam calls, robo calls, or unidentified callers, you should consider getting help from your network operator.
