ASUS ROG Phone 2 will get a major screen overhaul

We’re on track to see a launch for the ASUS ROG Phone 2 next month, but meanwhile, a new announcement shows that one of the major changes is going to be a screen overhaul.

ASUS actually isn’t being quiet about the phone up to the release. The company actually posted on Chinese-based social media site Weibo that we would be seeing some key screen changes.

The original ROG Phone ran at a 90Hz refresh rate, so this upgraded one will see an overhaul of up to 120Hz. That’s double the average refresh rate of a regular smartphone.

The average user isn’t going to notice much of a difference, because where this added refresh rate is really noticeable is in action-packed and fast-paced games.

So, if you’re an Android gamer, you’ll see the largest difference — games like PUBG Mobile, Fortnite mobile, and others will play so much smoother.

We can’t wait to see what else is in store for the ASUS ROG Phone 2 at the official announcemnet next month.
