Amazon Music Now Offers Free Music Streaming with Ads
Amazon offers multiple benefits to Prime customers, but what about those who aren’t subscribed to Prime? Well, the company has just made its music streaming service available for free to everyone in the U.S., UK, and Germany. Amazon made the announcement in a blog post, detailing how this works.
The company mentions that this service is now live on Android, iOS, and Fire TV versions of Amazon Music, so any non-Prime customer should be able to sign-up for this service as long as they have the apps. Thankfully, the streaming service is still accessible on the web, giving access to thousands of music and playlists with periodic ads. This was previously available for owners of Echo devices, and Amazon has now decided to make it available for every top mobile platform.
Amazon points out that customers will not need a credit/debit card to sign up for this service, and can start using it right away. The company didn’t mention if it plans to offer the service elsewhere, although it does seem likely. A standard subscription of Amazon Music Unlimited costs $7.99 per month, which gives you a lot more freedom with your music, and naturally, no ads. The company would hope that customers who enjoy the service in an ad-supported format will eventually jump over to the paid tier to reap multiple benefits.
If you’ve never tried Amazon Music due to its pricing, this could well be the best time to try it out as long as you don’t mind the occasional ads in between your music. Check out the app for Android from the link below.
