Red Dead Redemption 2

Coming up as our number one choice, and also made by Rockstar Games, we have Red Dead Redemption 2. If you want to take to the Wild West, engage in an open world, make play choice, and take part in an engaging and riveting story line, then you cannot go wrong with what Red Dead Redemption 2 has to offer. There’s a massive open world and rich multiplayer experience; however, the plot is what really sets Red Dead Redemption 2 apart — essentially, a robbery goes wrong, and Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. Federal agents bounty hunters are on their tails, and so, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive.

Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 takes a more dark and steampunk stealth approach; however, the game has an immersive story line that has had players vying for a successor to the original Dishonored. That game is Dishonored 2, where players follow the story of Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano. Being fully voice acted, players will love how the characters now have their own perspectives and emotional responses to the world and story. With tons of player choice and beautiful creative writing, Dishonored 2 will keep you fully engaged and addicted.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition comes up as number three on our countdown. It’s a far cry different to LA Noire; however, the major similarity here is that the game is an engaging story line, as well as a rich and immersive world to explore. Like LA Noire, play choice affects the outcome of the game. Aside from those aspects, Dragon Age is pretty different, even when it comes to the style of the story — a cataclysmic event brings the land into turmoil, various factions erupt in turmoil, the world is an absolute chaos, and now only you can save it. Dragon Age is one of our favorites, mostly because the developer — BioWare — is one of the best at story telling.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V comes up as number four on our countdown. This is another one that is a far cry different from LA Noire, with the only similarity being that the environment is slightly similar. Play around Los Santos and Blaine County, completing different quests, side missions, starting businesses, and playing in mini-games with other players. Buy homes, apartments, bunkers, and even a place to store all of your luxury vehicles.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider might be the closest to LA Noire, taking place in the modern world; however, it’s set in a completely different environment. You still get to uncover secrets and mysteries within the world, which is similar to LA Noire in some respect; however, it’s definitely a different style. Walk with Lara Croft through Inca and Mayan cultures while you journey your way through a new and threatening adventure. You’ll be able to explore a hidden kingdom where you can adventure with a queen and help a new king rise to power and join the battle against Trinity.

Verdict

As you can see, there are a lot of excellent games like LA Noire; however, there are very few that come close to the actual play style and story style of LA Noire. LA Noire was made by Rockstar Games, and there are few other developers out there that have the talent, time, and budget to put together such a unique and engaging game.

That said, if you’d still like to experience something with a rich story line, we can recommend Red Dead Redemption 2 to you, or Dishonored 2. The others are still great choices, but those two are definitely on top.
