Verizon Brings 5G Home to Some Parts of Chicago, IL

Verizon’s 5G Home service offers a great way for the consumers to enjoy blazing-fast 5G speeds at their home using a carrier-branded router and a receiver. It is currently available in regions like Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, and Sacramento. Well, Verizon has just announced the addition of Chicago, IL, to that list, taking the total tally of 5G Home cities to five.

Verizon 5G Home is perhaps the best and one of the few 5G home internet services in the U.S. The carrier claims that users can get between 300 Mbps and 1 Gbps in speeds, making it ideally suited for streaming 4K content or multiplayer gaming. Verizon makes the entire setup process easy for the customers with a dedicated team helping you set up the connection. Further, Verizon also offers an app that can help you understand the features of 5G Home better.

In order to get more users onto the platform, Verizon is currently offering a 3-month free trial of the 5G Home service. Post the trial period, Verizon customers will only have to pay $50/month while non-Verizon customers will be charged $70 per month. This effectively means that non-Verizon customers can try out 5G Home for three months without canceling their existing subscription.

While Verizon doesn’t cover a lot of area with its 5G networks right now, it’s currently on track for a massive expansion going into 2020. The carrier expects to be one of the top 5G carriers in the U.S., and with services like 5G Home, it’s definitely on the right track.

As for the newly added city, well, the service doesn’t cover the entirety of Chicago. Thankfully, Verizon lets you check for connectivity in your area by entering your street address. You can check it out from the link below.
