SpaceX Starship Launch Creates Massive Destruction In and Around Launch Pad

Footage of the destructive aftermath following SpaceX’s Starship rocket launch has been shared online, capturing the impact of the world’s largest and most powerful rocket. Louis Balderas of LabPadre.com recorded the incident using a network of cameras set up around SpaceX’s South Texas facility.

The unmanned Starship, equipped with the Super Heavy booster needed for orbital travel, successfully cleared its launch tower and flew for about four minutes before. The video reveals thick smoke engulfing the launch site and debris causing damage to nearby vehicles and equipment.

Despite the explosion, Balderas considered the launch a partial success, as the rocket cleared the pad and passed the speed of sound. However, he noted significant damage to the launch pad, launch mount, and fuel farm, suggesting some redesigns may be necessary.

Elon Musk had anticipated the possibility of an explosion because it was SpaceX’s first attempt at launching the Super Heavy booster.
