S8+ Screen Has Green Line

Problem: Hello I just yesterday started having the black screen of death with my s8 plus.  I know the hard reboot and it did come up again but there’s the green line of death at the bottom of the screen and the phone is fine as long as the screen doesnt turn off….if it does dark for any reason it’s impossible to bring back up without yet another hard reboot.  From my understanding the green line is a led screen issue, i even tried changing the display setting to basic and i put the screen timer at 10 min. i’m going to go crazy, samsung is no help and my carrier doesn’t know. it started happening while i was using it i had just put it down for a minute then all of a sudden it wouldn’t come up

Solution: The green line that you are seeing is most likely caused by a damaged display. You can however check if a software glitch is causing this issue by doing the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the green line appear in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install any apps in your phone after the reset. Try to check first if you still see the green line.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it repaired.

S8+ Screen Is Flickering

Problem: Hello guys, I got an issue with my galaxy S8+ since a couple of weeks. The screen is badly flickering and I can’t do anything anymore with my phone. In the first days, I heard sound effects (as i was taping on the type pad, or increasing/decreasing the sound volume) so I thought it was only the screen that was damaged. Now I can’t do anything because I’ve tried do factory reset it (blindly). I now want to change the screen but I want to be sure before order it, that it’s not a motherboard issue. To be honest, the touchscreen was already damaged (but normally responding) month before the screen flickering occurs. My question is : do i have to replace the screen or the motherboard ? Thank you very much, it will help me a lot,

Regards.

Solution: It’s going to be difficult to assess the situation unless each part can be tested. Right now I’m guessing that the display needs to be replaced since it is exhibiting a behavior that is not present in working displays. There’s also the possibility that the motherboard of your phone needs to be replaced if it has some components that are not working properly.

To be safe the best thing to do is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Continuous Touch On Screen Not Working

Problem: I have a samsung S8+, I’ve been having an issue where i can only hold my touch for about three seconds. I can do stuff but when I try to send voice texts and play games that requires continuous touch that’s when it happens. Can’t hold on for more than three seconds, it releases itself even tho I’m still touching the screen. Can anyone tell me what’s happening? It would mean alot to me thank you so much I really appreciate it

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if an app is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the problem occurs in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S8+ Screen Is Flickering After Drop

Problem: I dropped my phone the screen doesn’t have any visible cracks but now it just flickers and the bottom is green when at rest. I can still operate it but by memory because I can’t really see anything. I ended up upgrading but would still like to fix his phone as it is still a great phone and give it to my son.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch in which case you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If this doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
