Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Has Burn In Issue

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is considered to be one of the best Android smartphones released in 2017. This device has a solid build quality made of an aluminum frame sandwiched on both sides with Gorilla Glass. It sports a 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display which is a good size to view various multimedia content. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB of RAM which allows the device to run multiple apps smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 screen has burn in issue and other related problems.

S8 Screen Has Burn In Issue

Problem: I have a Galaxy S8 . I was searching for solutions to reddish pink ghost icons on a white background when I noticed something peculiar. Down in the bottom right corner, it appears that there are ghost icons that should be on an infinity edge display, like a Samsung logo oval, something that looks like a bar, a power “lightning bolt “, a + symbol and something else that I can’t quite make out. These are not associated with any app installed, but looks like the display is just confused, trying to display something that it thinks should be there. Is this just a glitch on the S8 display?

Solution: There’s a possibility that the screen is temporarily retaining the image of the last apps displayed on the screen. This will usually disappear after a short while. In case it doesn’t then the problem could already be a screen burn in issue. This is a phenomenon when the screen permanently displays a certain image on the screen even if the phone is restarted. To troubleshoot this problem you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the same issue persists then this is most likely caused by a screen burn in problem already. Unfortunately the only way to fix this is to have the display assembly of the phone replaced at a service center.

S8 Screen Is Black

Problem: I have a Samsung S8 . It was not but I had to store in my bra during a rain storm but it didn’t get soaked or set in any water. A couple days later I charged it and my lock screen pic lit up but flashed back to black and since I haven’t been able to get the screen to light up long enough to unlock it. I’ve tried to charge and use power/down volume to restart but it only gives a vibration and a blue light in top left stays on. The screen never lights up. I can leave it alone a while and randomly hit button and screen will light up but not remain on. The phone isn’t currently activated only used on wifi but all my apps and pics etc are needed to transfer to new device. I can’t remember Gmail password nor Facebook which all other apps are linked thru and my recovering phone number is my old number. So I’m currently unable to access anything. I mainly just need all apps transferred from old device which was a contract phone thru Verizon to new phone which is a prepaid paid Verizon. Hoping you can help.

Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this case is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. To do this you should charge the phone using its wall charger for at least 20 minutes. If the charging indicator does not appear then you should clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port. As soons as the battery has sufficient charge try turning on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the above steps does not fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked a this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S8 Screen Randomly Activates

Problem: My new Samsung Galaxy S8 has been having an issue lately.  When it is just sitting off to the side, screen off, and nothing touching it, it will very rarely flick on in low-brightness, flip between 5 or 6 different pages rapidly(at least one being an app page), then go back to normal brightness and switch back off to Standby again. This all happens within 1-3 seconds.  I’ve seen this happen one too many times to the point that it is seriously starting to worry me. Especially as I can’t seem to find anything about this online. Please help.

Solution: The first thing you will need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. To do this you will need to start the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then you will have to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
