Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Samsung Account Has Stopped Error

Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. This is a flagship model released last year that’s still powerful enough to compete against the latest flagship devices released today. Some of the best features of this phone include its Snapdragon 835/ Exynos 8895 processor, 4GB of RAM, 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display, and its 12MP rear camera just to name a few. Although this is a solid performing phone some problems can still occur. Today we will tackle the Galaxy S8 account has stopped error and other related problems.

S8 Samsung Account Has Stopped Error

Problem: I am having major problems because I decided, against my better judgement, to follow advice on this forum. I have been getting the messages ‘samsung account has stopped’ since the last update I did a couple of months ago. It slows down the phone and becomes annoying. I have tried everything but a factory reset but today I did just that. I NOW HAVE NO PHONE AND STAND TO LOSE BUSINESS BECAUSE IT IS MY ONLY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION. After the reset I still get ‘samsung account has stopped’ but now I cannot even get into the phone even after signing up to google. It just keeps looping and does not let me past the protect your phone screen. I desperately need help. I have no money for another phone and it is not on contract. I need it working, no other choice. What can I do?

Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to make sure that your Samsung account is working. Access your Samsung account from a computer browser.

  • Go to https://account.samsung.com using a web browser using your computer computer.
  • Login with your Samsung account credentials.

If you are able to access your account then it should also be working in your phone. To fix this problem follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try clearing the cache and data of the cache and data of the Samsung Account service from the application manager while the phone is still in Safe Mode.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S8 Stuck In Samsung Logo

Problem: Galaxy S8 gets to the display with black screen and Samsung galaxy edge – powered by android and no further Tried using power and vol to boot up and turns off, vibrates and goes to the same screen as above Nothing else will get the phone past this step Use power button and turns off then on again to the same screen as mention in first paragraph

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing this first as this will usually cause this kind of problem. With the card remove restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should proceed with the next steps listed below.

  • Make sure that the phone has sufficient charge. If necessary charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Does the issue still occur? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Apps Open On Their Own

Problem: Hi I have  samsung S8 that I am having issues with. I was hoping you could help troubleshoot what might be going on with my phone please. Whenever I wake it up it seems to go bonkers on me.  Google play might open up even though I did not touch the screen, or other apps that are on the phone may open up that I have not opened up for awhile and then the screen will flash back and forth and the only way I can get it to stop is to touch the power button (not powering it all the way off) put it to sleep and then wake it up again.  My version says Android 7.0 I look forward to hearing from you and please tell me if you need additional information.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to  check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset as the problem could be caused by a software glitch.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
