The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is one of the Android smartphones available in the market that does a good job in handling apps. Whatever app you throw at it you can be sure that it can run it smoothly since the phone has a powerful processor and huge RAM combination. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 random apps keep stopping issue and other related problems.
S8 Random Apps Keep Stopping
Problem: Hi, guys! So my galaxy S8 has started having some problems lately. Random apps keep stopping sometimes so repeatedly that as soon as i tap “ok” on the notification, another one comes up about the same app, and/or another one. Also it keeps restarting randomly, sometimes a few times in a minute. Another thing that’s odd is that sometimes it works perfectly fine for a few hours, and then it will just restart out of the blue, or the app i’m using, or another, random one will stop working. Also, usually after it restarts i’ll get two or three notifications of apps that stopped working. I must mention that i deleted the cache memory, did soft resets and even a factory reset, and nothing changed. What should I do?
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then remove it first. Once the microSD card is removed you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. As soon as the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check if a software update is available first then update your phone accordingly. Once the phone is running on the latest software version check if the issue still occurs. In case it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Boot Loop After Software Update
Problem: After updating my Galaxy S8, my phone will shut off and go into a boot loop around 30-40% and continues until my battery dies or until I plug it in. Usually once plugged in it will power on normally. Occasionally plugging it in doesn’t cut it and booting with safe mode will, but more often than not if plugging it in doesn’t work, I have to wait until my phone has charged completely to power it on and actually make it passed my lock screen. Throughout the day my phone will freeze, act like it reset, and I’ll have to enter my backup password instead of using my fingerprint. I’ve tried soft resets, factory resets, and clearing the cache partition. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset which does not solve the problem then you should consider flashing the phone with the previous firmware version using Odin. You can get the firmware as well as the instructions on how to flash your phone at the Sammobile website. In case the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8 Unfortunately The Process Android Process Media Has Stopped
Problem: Keep getting the “unfortunately the process android.process.media has stopped” ive tried a soft reset and wont work, i can’t get into any applications or settings because the error overrides everything, i’m unable to do anything with the phone cant even do a full reset, can you help?
Solution: If you are unable to access the settings of the phone because of this error message then you should try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- If the phone has a microSD card then remove this card then try accessing the phone settings. From here go to applications then clear the cache and data of the following apps; Media, Google Services Framework, Market. Check if the issue still occurs.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. From here access the settings then clear the cache and data of the apps listed above. Check if the issue still occurs
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
S8 System Crashes After Software Update
Problem: My issue is that after updating my phone via OTA, I have been experiencing system crashes where the phone will freeze and shut down and not boot back up sometimes for hours or a couple days. I have seen the error message “verification failed, please reset ur phone etc.” Thanks for your help in advance.
Solution: It looks like the problem is caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. The best thing to do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
