Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Photos Disappear From Gallery

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is one of the premium Android smartphones available in the market that is able to take excellent quality photos. The phone is equipped with a 12MP f/1.7 dual pixel rear camera which is capable of taking clear photos even in low light conditions. It’s also capable of recording 4K quality videos. These photos and videos taken by the device looks really good when viewed on the 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display of the phone. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will  be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 photos disappear from gallery issue and other related problems.

S8 Photos Disappear From Gallery

Problem: Hello all! I am desperate for help at this point. I have gone through a ton of your different guides in an effort to fix this problem on my phone. I have even just factory reset my phone to find that I did nothing to correct the issue. So I am praying that you may be able to help me. I first came across this problem about a week or so ago when I was trying to take a quick picture but the image never saved. All I’d get was a gray screen with an exclamation mark on it. That screen would then quickly disappear out of my gallery in a matter of seconds. I tried to take the same picture about 5 or 6 times before getting frustrated and quitting. I went to Google and Reddit for help and the suggestions included to check if the SD card was fully inserted (it is) and to clear your storage/data cache (I did for camera, gallery and system UI and cache partition). I have restarted the phone over and over again between attempts at fixing this problem and I still face the same results. At first I could only take a picture through pro mode and it would save. However, now it will not save a photo from any mode i.e. auto, sport, food, etc. including pro. When I put it on the slow motion and super slow motion a notification pops up saying “the recording failed” and then exits out of the app. The notification comes without me actually starting a recording, I just have to switch it to that mode. The only way that I have been able to successfully take photos is through snapchat or pulling the camera up and screenshotting what is displayed on the screen. More recently when I take a picture and try to switch over to the gallery to see if it has saved I get a notification stating that the system UI is not responding. To which I followed your steps in an attempt to correct that problem. I have not recently dropped the phone or gotten it wet or anything that could have damaged it. It was working fine just the other day so I don’t know what could have caused this. I use my camera almost daily as I am an avid photographer and the reason I bought this phone was for the camera. Thank you in advance for all of your help!

Solution: Are the photos and videos taken by the phone stored in the microSD card? If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing it then set the default save location of the camera to the internal storage of the phone. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then backup your phone data and do a factory reset Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the problem is still present.

If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S8 Camera Fail Error

Problem: My 8 month old S8 with no damage as a “Camera Fail” error message when choosing the camera app Icon.  It is stuck in “selfie” mode and unusable. However, the camera works fine with any/all other apps that connect with the camera, i.e. text attachment, photo compass, etc. I have tried the cache delete, force stop and soft reset.  I am not ready to do a full factory reset until I have explored “ALL” options since the camera does at time function. Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Regards

Related Problem: Hi all, Whenever I try to open the camera app I receive an error message (Camera Failed), I tried everything to fix this issue with my device, – Force stop & clearing Data – Wipe cache partition – Factory reset – Samsung original system re-flash But nothing fixed this issue, so would you please help me with getting a solution, the phone has no warranty because the screen is cracked. Thanks

Solution: For this particular issue you should try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager. If the issue still occurs after this then you should try to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

One last troubleshooting step to consider is a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before oding the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
