Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Audio Not Working On Streaming Apps

Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 fix the issues that they are facing with their phone. Today we will tackle the Galaxy S8 audio not working on streaming apps issue and other related problems. This particular models is a flagship device released in 2017 that comes packed with tons of features. While this is a solid performer sometimes issues can occur which we will be addressing.

S8 Audio Not Working On Streaming Apps

Problem: When I try to use YouTube or Pandora, or any app or website that has sound to it, the audio either cuts off after about 10 seconds or it doesn’t work at all every single time I use it. However, audio does work with headphones every time. I have tried rebooting but that only works temporarily (after 20 min to an hour the audio goes out again). Please help! So annoying!!!!

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the phone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. You should check if the issue occurs when the phone connects to a different network  and if it doesn’t then the problem is connection related. In case the issue persists then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the affected apps from the application manager. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8 YouTube Audio Is Low After Factory Reset

Problem: I have a Galaxy S8. Recently, I had to do factory reset. Now, YouTube videos are super quiet, even when at maximum volume. I didn’t have this issue before I did the factory reset. Please help!! I am sorry for choosing other for my os. I honestly don’t know what I have. I know it’s up to date, whatever it is. I wanna say Nougat?

Solution: the first thing you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the volume setting of the phone is set to its maximum level. To do this go to Settings then Sound and Vibration. Tap on volume then adjust the following to its maximum levels; ringtone, media, notifications, system. Next, check if there are any new software updates as well as app updates for your phone then update the device accordingly. You should also check the volume level of the YouTube app and make sure that it is set to its maximum level.

S8 No Audio When Using Headset

Problem:  I’m facing a problem with sound when I connect a headphone or bluetooth speaker, sound doesn’t come out. However it detects the headphone and I can even control the volume up and down through the headphone but it doesn’t benefit. I tried restarting the phone, with and without it, taking the SD CARD out, cleaning the Jack Port, none helped. I have a root on the device.

Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur then this could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue persists then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This way you can check if the problem is caused by a software glitch.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Sound Turns Off On Its Own

Problem: turns sound off completely by itself. It will turn my volume back up and a 30 sec later its turned back off by itself or turned the priority sound on. I have went to settings and have tried unchecked the priority sound options, i’ve tried checking all of the options and just completely turning this option off. I have soft reset this phone numerous times which has not helped I was hoping to not have to do a factory reset if possible to fix the issue but will if this is the only option

Solution: You should check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
