HTC 10 Randomly Disconnects Then Reconnects To Mobile Data

Problem: When I play games on my data or Hotspot someone or watch YouTube my network cuts out after 3 minutes or 5 and then it turns back on seconds after but it stops my games and I have to start over or it shortly disconnects the hotspot real quick. I’ve tried restarting and following prompts on youtube and even calling network provider and I think the problem lies with the phone I’m not sure . Please help me out

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do is to check if the problem only occurs in a specific area. Try going to a different location then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then this could be a network related problem. In case the issue occurs wherever you go to then it’s time to troubleshoot the phone by following the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

HTC 10 Stuck In 2G ( Edge) After Software Update

Problem: I updated my phone software , since the update, my network is stuck at edge (2G) regardless of all my efforts to change it. I changed the Sim card and used a different Sim, still the same, Tried: settings, more, cellular networks, but there’s no option to change 2G or 3G. I also tried searching the network manually, but all I get is 2G. I have tried these from different locations but no improvement. The initial network before the update was H+ I read the response you gave to someone concerning the same issue, he was advised to visit the network operator. In my case, when I use the Sim in other phones, the 3G appears to work but doesn’t work on this updated device. Your help would be very much appreciated Thanks

Solution: The most likely cause of this problem is a misconfigured APN setting. To access this setting from your phone follow the steps listed below.

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
  • Turn on the mobile data connection
  • Tap Mobile network or tap Mobile data.
  • Tap Access point names.

Since you are on the T-Mobile network make sure that your phone has the following settings.

  • Name: T-Mobile US LTE
  • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  • Proxy: <Not set>
  • Port: <Not set>
  • Username: <Not set>
  • Password: <Not set>
  • Server: <Not set>
  • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
  • Multimedia message proxy: <Not set>
  • Multimedia message port: <Not set>
  • MCC: 310
  • MNC: 260
  • Authentication type: None
  • APN Type: default,supl,mms OR Internet+MMS
  • APN protocol: IPv6
  • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
  • Turn APN on/off: APN turned on
  • Bearer: Unspecified

HTC 10 Not Connecting To 4G Network

Problem: Bought device used. It is an HTC 10 in good condition. Only problem is that it doesn’t connect to 4g network. I have to use my wifi at home to download unreadable texts, usually from non samsung phones. Sometimes a screen pops up to say that there is no sim card…but there is because all phone functions are good. It does show 3g at the top of the screen at all times.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete make sure that the APN setting of the phone is set properly. You can refer to the problem we have addressed above on how to do this. When checking your phone signal make sure that you are in an area where other phones on the same network are getting a 4G signal.

In case the issue still occurs then you should try replacing the SIM card of your phone with a new one.

HTC 10 No Internet After Software Update

Problem: Hi, I bought an HTC 10, it was working fine until I updated it. After the update the phone could not connect to the internet neither by mobile data or WI-Fi, I decided to factory restore it then the problem was solved. But the problem is i’m having the same issue again and i can’t keep on restoring my phone.

Solution: If the factory reset fixed the problem initially then this there’s a possibility that you might have downloaded an app that is causing the problem. To check if this is the case start your phone in Safe Mode then try going online in this mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then you will have to find out what app is causing the problem then uninstall it.
