Samsung’s Galaxy Fold could have a staggered re-launch

Samsung delayed the Galaxy Fold while it worked out some issues with the phone. Now that those are fixed, Samsung is ready to launch the device once again, but it may start out with a slow rollout, starting with just a couple markets first.

The Korean tech giant is considering the Galaxy Fold for the major markets first — the US, UK, Germany, France, and India, according to a report from SamMobile.

The publication says that firmware is primarily being developed for those aforementioned markets, with firmware development slowing or delayed altogether for smaller regions, like Italy.

We’re not why that is, since Samsung typically tests firmware across all markets, a la the Galaxy Note 10. That said, Samsung could likely just be staggering the rollout, or might want to control production a bit more. Who knows, but we’ll ultimately find out for sure when the phone is finally launched again later this year.
