Samsung Rolls Out One UI 5.1.1 Beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 4

South Korean tech giant Samsung has initiated the roll out of its new One UI 5.1.1 beta to eligible Galaxy Z Fold 4 beta testers in the region, according to popular tipster Ice Universe (via SamMobile). The update brings several improvements and enhancements to Samsung’s foldable smartphone, including updates to its taskbar, camera app, gallery app and health app.

Enhanced S Pen Capability

The One UI 5.1.1 beta introduces changes that allow users to use their S Pen more efficiently when interacting with minimized apps. The users can now simply hold their S Pen over it to see a preview of the minimized app, thereby enhancing multitasking capabilities on the device.

Improved Taskbar

The taskbar has been redesigned in this update for better functionality; it now displays the four most recently used apps and automatically adjusts itself based on the number of apps it contains. This feature offers improved multitasking efficiency, allowing users to swiftly switch between applications.

Camera and Gallery App Updates

One significant improvement brought in by this update is an updated Pro Mode design in Flex Mode for Samsung’s default Camera app. Users can now adjust ISO and shutter speed settings with greater ease in this flexible mode that adapts to their unique shooting preferences. In addition, the Gallery app now allows users to alter the date and time of a watermark on their photos if they wish, providing further customization options.

Samsung Health Enhancements

Samsung Health also received noteworthy updates as part of the One UI 5.1.1 beta release. These include features that directly affect Galaxy Watch 5 users – an option to collect skin temperature information during sleep and an improved Sleep Coach are among additions that aim to augment user’s health tracking capabilities.

Pop-Up App Handling

This latest beta update also brings noticeable enhancements in handling pop-up apps on this foldable device; it provides a more intuitive way for users to manipulate the top of a pop-up window so that they can drag it over either side of the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s internally large display.

Although we don’t know yet when U.S Galaxy Z Fold 4 owners can expect this beta, it is clear from reports via SamMobile that this update may experience a “limited reach” once it exits its testing phase due to its specific tailorings towards foldable devices like the Z Fold 4.

Future Developments: One UI 6

Samsung isn’t resting on its laurels; following this significant update, they are also developing One UI 6 which is going to be based on Android 14 expected to launch in August. Internal testing has already begun for the latest Galaxy S23 series alongside next iteration’s foldables – Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Flip 4 – as per leaks outlined via SamMobile.

The official One UI 6 Beta program is rumored to begin in July’s third week where selected testers will get valuable hands-on experience with software advancements being cooked up by Samsung engineers.

With these developments hitting full tilt subsequently leading into Samsung’s summer Unpacked event scheduled for July’s ending week – fans should keep eyes peeled not just for device reveals but possible teasers about their next software variant all set around revolutionizing their smartphone experience.
