Samsung Releases New One UI Watch 5 beta 3 for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5

Samsung has initiated the release of its new One UI Watch 5 beta 3 for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series. This latest build, touted to be the third since the beta program commenced a month prior, surges forward with multiple bug repairs, functional enhancements, and includes the most recent Android security update applicable as of July 2023. A stable One UI Watch 5 update is likely to be unveiled next month.

Samsung’s launch of this beta testing of its One UI Watch 5 is seen to be specifically aimed for its Wear OS smartwatches. The initial two beta software releases took place over a span of slightly over a week. The subsequent release served to squash several bugs highlighted within its original build. Now moving into the third beta construct, Samsung establishes a trajectory towards more bug fixes.

At present, this third beta version of One UI Watch 5 remains available solely to registered users hailing from South Korea, however, those located in the US are also permitted access to the beta program. For subscribers who have enrolled their Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 5 devices into the program, they are expected to receive an OTA (over-the-air) update promptly.

The update package dispatches at just above a size of 425MB bearing a firmware version ending with ZWFC, making an upgrade from the prior build number which ended with ZWF4.

Notable Bug Remedies

A disclosure from a Twitter post revealed that Samsung has addressed an issue relating to blood oxygen measurements occurring during sleep periods. Samsung has therefore shown keen attention on health tracking features in this latest version of the software. This newly launched update enhances sleep tracking capabilities and optimizes screen brightness level offering better visibility outdoors.

Battery drain grievances voiced by previous users have been attended to as well within this latest roll-out in addition to contributing system stability and reliability improvements. These improvements certainly elevate user experience significantly and ensure smoother operation of wearable devices.

Though Samsung has not released details regarding the timeline for dispersing the stable One UI Watch 5 update for respective Galaxy Watches, it is anticipated that Samsung will be revealing this major update in the month following.
