Official Poster Confirms Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic Sizes
More details on the upcoming high-anticipated Galaxy Watch 6 series by Samsung have emerged ahead of their scheduled announcement at Samsung’s much-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event next week. Key among these details include the size and connectivity variants for the new smartwatches. These insights came from a poster published by Funshop, an official partner of Samsung.
Galaxy Watch 6 Series Models
Twitter user @BullsLab was first to spot the official poster, which indicated that Samsung will introduce two models in the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup this year. The base model is set to be offered in both 40mm and 44mm sizes. The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, meanwhile, will be available in 43mm and 47mm sizes. Both models are set to launch in Bluetooth and LTE versions.
Pre-orders and Launch Offers
The webpage featuring this poster also revealed that pre-orders for the Galaxy Watch 6 series are expected to commence immediately after their launch on July 26. Pre-orders will be open until August 7, with general sales commencing on August 11. Early birds who reserve the new watches prior to the launch stand to receive gifts worth KRW 10,000 upon purchase of the device.
Notable Features
Significant excitement builds around the return of Samsung’s rotating bezel feature — a distinction signature of Samsung smartwatches that was conspicuously absent in last year’s Galaxy Watch 5 models. The updated Galaxy Watch 6 Classic model will reintroduce the physical bezel back into Samsung’s lineup, greatly simplifying scrolling lengthy pages and controlling diverse functions.
An updated processor is expected in the new line as well, with speculation around usage of the improved Exynos W930 processor, providing marked increases in CPU speed and overall performance relative to its predecessor, Exynos W920.
Leaked Images
Leaked images of both models — Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic — were made available via Twitter tipster SnoopyTech who shared purported high-quality renderings of these soon-to-be-launched smartwatches. These images showcased specific sizes (i.e., the 40mm /44mm versions of Galaxy Watch 6 and the 43mm /47mm variants of Galaxy Watch 6 Classic) with added spotlight on their rotating bezels’ appearance.
In a surprise move, English Premier League soccer player Son Heung-min was spotted wearing what appeared to be one of these unreleased models – Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Following this image surfacing, Samsung confirmed Son’s role as their newest brand ambassador.
To add to this growing list of product announcements at next week’s event, recent whispers also point towards potential reveals of new foldables such as Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip5 as well as tablets from the Galaxy Tab S9 series slated for release along similar timelines.
While these leaks do provide considerable insight regarding what one may expect at Samsung’s forthcoming event, users keen on purchasing any one or more from this array of devices would have to wait until July 26th when more definitive information would make its way out.
