Samsung Galaxy A10 running slow. Here’s how to fix it.

So, in this post, I will walk you through in troubleshooting your Galaxy A10 that started running slow and no longer works the way it should. Troubleshooting Galaxy A10 that started running slow

It is a possible firmware issue and when troubleshooting with this kind of problem, you need to be thorough enough to accurately fix it as well as not lose some of your important files and data. With that being said, here’s what you should do: 

First solution: Force restart your phone

The first thing that you need to do if your phone is running slow is the forced restart. It is possible that the problem is only due to a very minor firmware issue. Most of the time, it can be fixed by doing this procedure, which is actually a simulated battery removal that refreshes the device’s memory as well as reloads its apps and services. Here’s how it’s done:

1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet. 
2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well. 
3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A10 logo shows on the screen.

Once your phone has rebooted successfully, try to see if it’s still running slow because if it does, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Find out if your phone is running slow due to downloaded apps

There are apps that may cause your phone to perform poorly or sluggish. If this is the case with your phone, then you don’t have to worry so much because it’s pretty easy to fix. But first, you have to see if it’s really one or some of your downloaded apps that’s causing this issue by running your phone in safe mode: 

1. Press and hold the Power key until options show. 
2. Tap and hold the Power off option until it changes into Safe Mode. 
3. Tap the Safe mode icon to restart your device.
4. Once the reboot is successful, you should see ‘Safe mode’ at the lower-left corner of the screen. 

If your phone runs smoothly while in this mode, then it means that the problem is just due to some third-party applications. Here’s what you should do next: 

1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode. 
2. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone starts running slow.
3. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
4. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
5. Scroll to and then tap Apps. 
6. Find and tap suspected app. 
7. Tap Storage. 
8. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
9. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall. 
10. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone. 

On the other hand, if your phone is still slow even in safe mode, then the problem could already be with the firmware. Move to the next procedure.

Third solution: Wipe the cache partition

At this point, it’s best to troubleshoot the firmware of your device and the first thing you should do about it is to delete the old system cache so that it will be replaced with a new one. The system cache is prone to corruption and when such issue occurs, you can always expect that your phone will have performance-related issues. Here’s how you do that:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

After your phone has restarted successfully, try to see if it’s still running slow and then move to the next procedure if it still does. 

Fourth solution: Backup your important files and reset your phone

As long as the firmware hasn’t been modified in any way, you should be able to fix this problem by doing the master reset. But before that, make sure to backup all your important files and data, especially the ones that are saved in your phone’s internal storage. After which, remove your Google and Samsung accounts so that you won’t be locked out of your device after the reset. When everything is in order and ready, follow these steps to reset your phone: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
6. Press Power button to select.
7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
10. Press the Power key to restart the device.
