To factory reset a Google Nest Mini (2nd Gen), follow these steps:

  2. Initiate the Reset: Press and hold the center of the Nest Mini, where the lights are located on top. After about 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until you hear a sound confirming that the device is resetting.

Important Notes

  • Data Clearance: A factory reset will clear all your data from the device and cannot be undone. Ensure you save any important data before proceeding.
  • No Voice or App Reset: You cannot use your voice or the Google Home app to factory reset any of these devices. The reset must be done using the physical buttons on the device.
  • Power Cycle: If you only need to reboot your device instead of performing a full factory reset, you can unplug the device, wait for about one minute, and then plug it back in. Alternatively, you can use the Google Home app to reboot the device by going to Settings > Device Settings and selecting the Reboot option.

Preparing for Sale or Trade-In

Before selling or trading in your Google Home Mini or other smart devices, it is crucial to perform a factory reset to ensure all personal data is removed. This step helps protect your privacy and prepares the device for its new user.

By following these steps, you can easily reset your Google smart devices and ensure they are ready for their next use.
