Samsung is a South Korean company that’s best known worldwide for their Android smartphone products. The company’s flagship S series are one of the most powerful models available in the market today. You might not know it but the company also has several consumer products being sold worldwide such as televisions, monitors, washing machine’s and smart fridges just to name a few.

Detailed guide on how to reset your Samsung refrigerator

If you own one of the newer Samsung refrigerator models then this will usually have some form of smart feature included which will help it work efficiently. It will usually have touch control buttons or a digital display panel to help consumers monitor their Samsung fridge.

Samsung refrigerators are one of the best performing refrigerator models available in the market today. Although they perform quite well with little user intervention sometimes certain issues will occur that will need you to perform a reset.

When do you need to reset your Samsung refrigerator

Here are some of the scenarios when you will want to perform a reset on your Samsung fridge.

  • When the Samsung fridge is in shop mode.
  • When the Samsung fridge has an irregular temperature display.
  • When the Samsung fridge is displaying common error codes that needs a reset to be fixed.

You should only reset your Samsung fridge as a last resort. It’s mostly safe to reset the fridge after a power outage and you get an 88 error code. This error code can occur if there is a power surge or other electrical anomaly which could potentially cause a communication fault.

When NOT to reset your refrigerator

Take note that you don’t need to reset your fridge for all the error codes that you encounter. You may be successful in clearing the error codes but then you’re not treating the underlying condition. It’s very likely the code will come back. And when it does come back the technician won’ be able to review the history of the error code since it had been wiped by the reset.
