How To Fix The Oppo Find X Won’t Connect To Wi-Fi Issue

It has a 6.42 inch AMOLED display having a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. At the back is a dual camera setup while the front part has a motorized pop-up 16MP selfie camera. Under the hood you will find the Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 8GB of RAM. Although this is a solid performing device there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. How To Fix The Oppo Find X Won’t Connect To Wi-Fi Issue

Before you do the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem I suggest that you make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If an update is available then you should download and install it first. This will minimize the possibility of the problem being caused by an outdated software version. Once the latest software update has been installed proceed with the steps listed below.

Don’t forget to turn on the phone Wi-Fi switch

Your phone will have a Wi-Fi switch which needs to be turned so that the device can connect to a Wi-Fi network. You should check if this switch is on. You should also make sure that the Airplane mode of the device is disabled.

  • Swipe left.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select Wi-Fi.
  • Turn Enable Wi-Fi on.
  • Select the wireless network you want to connect to.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi Password and select Connect.

Check if the Oppo Find X won’t connect to Wi-Fi issue still occurs.

Possible router problem

Sometimes the problem can be caused by the router and not by your phone. Can other devices connect to the router successfully? Is your phone within range of your router? Does the router have a setting activated (MAC Filtering) that is blocking your phone from connecting to it? One quick way to check if this is a router related issue is to connect your phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the issue still occurs.

Perform a soft reset

There are cases when a corrupted temporary data in the phone can cause this problem. What you will want to do is to refresh the phone software which can be done easily by simply restarting the device.

  • Press and hold the Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Update your phone Wi-Fi settings

This will usually fix Wi-Fi related issues on your device.  Go to Settings then App Management then tap on All. You can also go to Settings then Additional settings then  Application management. From here tap on All. Tap on Wi-Fi Settings. From here tap on clear data and cache. Check if your phone can now successfully connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

There are cases when an app you downloaded will cause the Oppo Find X won’t connect to Wi-Fi issue on the phone when it is installed. This can be due to bugs in the app or compatibility issues with the app and your phone. To check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn Off your phone.
  • Press and Hold Power Button.
  • Release Power button and hold Volume Down Key when you see the Oppo animation.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down Key until Safe Mode appears.

In case the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

Sometimes the cached data stored in the dedicated partition of the phone can become corrupted. When this happens this this will usually cause certain issues to occur on the phone. To eliminate the possibility that this is what’s causing the problem you will have to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

  • Press down the Power key and select the Power off option. If the screen is frozen or unresponsive, you can hold down the Power key for several seconds until the device switches off.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power keys for a few moments.
  • Release all buttons when the OPPO logo appears.
  • Select language.
  • Select Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Perform a factory reset

In case the above steps fails to fix the Oppo Find X won’t connect to Wi-Fi issue then the best way to deal with this right now is to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

  • Press down the Power key and select the Power off option. If the screen is frozen or unresponsive, you can hold down the Power key for several seconds until the device switches off.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power keys for a few moments.
  • Release all buttons when the OPPO logo appears.
  • Select language.
  • Select  Wipe data and Wipe data (Keep SMS, Contacts and Photos).
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.

Setup the phone then check if the issue still persists. If it does then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component. You should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
