How To Fix The Oppo A7 Can’t Send MMS Issue

Before proceeding with the recommended troubleshooting steps for this particular problem it’s best to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If an update is available then I suggest that you download and install it first. This will minimize the possibility of the problem being caused by an older software version.

In order for your phone to successfully send and receive an MMS there are usually two requirements that carriers will need from your device First, the device should have an active mobile data subscription and that it should be getting a strong mobile data signal, preferably LTE. Second, the device should be using the correct APN setting. This setting is unique for each carrier so make sure to compare your carrier APN setting with the one on your phone and make the necessary changes if needed.

To access the APN settings of your phone:

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Mobile networks
  • Tap Access point names (APN)
  • From here you can reset the APN to default or add a new APN.

In case the Oppo A7 can’t send MMS issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

Perform a soft reset

One of the first things you will need to do is to refresh the phone software by doing a soft reset. This will usually fix most issues caused by minor software glitches.

  • Press and hold the Power a key for up to 45 seconds.
  • Wait as the device restarts.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app

The text messaging app will usually store data that is commonly used to make the app perform better. Sometimes this data can become corrupted which in turn will prevent it from sending an MMS. To eliminate this possibility you will need to clear the cache and data of this app.

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Additional Settings
  • Tap Application Management
  • Tap All
  • Tap the required app
  • Tap clear cache
  • Tap clear data
  • Go back to the home screen.

Try checking if the Oppo A7 can’t send MMS issue still occurs.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

There are instances when an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store can cause this particular issue. To check if this is the case you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

  • Turn Off your phone.
  • Press and Hold Power Button.
  • Release Power button and hold Volume Down Key when you see the Oppo animation.
  • Continue holding the Volume Down Key until Safe Mode appears.

If you can send an MMS in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app is causing the problem then uninstall it.

You will need to do a trial and error method to find the particular app. Start by uninstalling the most recent app you downloaded before the problem occurred then check if the issue still occurs. Repeat this step until the issue will not occur anymore after uninstalling a particular app. This last app is most likely the cause of the problem.

Wipe the cache partition

There are instances when a corrupted system cached data can cause this problem. It’s therefore a good idea to delete this data as the phone will just rebuild this data when it starts again.

  • Press down the Power key and select the Power off option. If the screen is frozen or unresponsive, you can hold down the Power key for several seconds until the device switches off.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power keys for a few moments.
  • Release all buttons when the OPPO logo appears.
  • Select language.
  • Select Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.

Check if the issue still occurs.

Perform a factory reset

One last troubleshooting step to consider if your Oppo A7 can’t send MMS is a factory reset. This will bring your phone back to its original factory condition. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in the process so make sure to create a backup copy before proceeding.

  • Select  Wipe data and Wipe data (Keep SMS, Contacts and Photos).
  • Tap ok
  • Reboot the phone.

Once the phone has started make sure to setup the APN settings of the device first before sending an MMS.
