It has a 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. It has a single 16MP camera at the back and a single 8MP selfie camera at the front. Under the hood is a Mediatek MT6750 octa core processor which is paired with 4GB of RAM. How To Fix The LG Q Stylus Screen Flickering Issue

It is best to have your phone running on the latest software version before performing the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below. If an update is available then I suggest that you download and install it first.

One of the factors that can cause the screen of the phone to flicker is a software glitch. An app might have been downloaded to the device which is causing the problem or some form of corrupt data in the app is the culprit. What we will be doing right now is to troubleshoot the software of the phone to fix this problem.

Perform a soft reset

The first thing that you will have to do in this particular case is to refresh the phone software which can be done by simply restarting the phone. Although this is usually done on an unresponsive device it will also work in this case. To perform this procedure just press and hold the Power button and Volume Down until the device powers off, approximately 8 seconds, then release. Once this is done check if the screen still flickers.

Start the phone in Safe Mode

Sometimes an app you downloaded from the Google Play Store will cause the LG Q Stylus screen flickering issue on the phone when it is installed. This usually happens when the app has some bugs or is incompatible with the phone software version. To check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode.

• With the screen on, press and hold the Power key.
• In the options menu that displays, tap Power off and restart.
• The device will restart and the Safe mode overlay will no longer show on the screen.

In case the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

To find out what app is causing this problem you will need to do a trial and error method. Start the phone normally then uninstall an app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. Repeat this step until the issue no longer occurs. The last app you uninstalled is most likely the culprit.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

Your phone will usually store the most commonly used data for easy retrieval which makes the device perform better. Sometimes this cached data stored in the dedicated partition of the phone can become corrupted. When this happens this this will usually cause certain issues to occur on the phone. To eliminate the possibility that this is what’s causing the problem you will have to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

• From the Home screen, tap Settings.
• Tap the ‘General’ tab.
• Tap Storage > Internal storage.
• Wait for menu options to finish calculating.
• Tap Free up space.
• Tap Temporary files & raw files.
• Select the following options: Cached data, Clip tray temporary files, Raw files from camera.
• Tap Delete > DELETE

Check if the issue still occurs.

Perform a factory reset

In case the above steps fails to fix the LG Q Stylus screen flickering problem then your last option is to do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset as this will be deleted in the process.

• Turn off the device.
• Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
• When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
• When the ‘Delete all user data (including LG and carrier apps) and reset all settings’ message appears, use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
• Press the Power button to reset the device.

Once the reset is complete setup your phone again, but don’t install any apps yet,  then check if the screen still flickers. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
