How To Fix Pocophone F1 Pictures In Gallery Are Grey With Exclamation Mark

Problem: I have a Pocophone F1. Some pictures I take are great then I’ll look through the gallery and some have gone to a grey screen with an exclamation mark or just completely messed up..it’s like they’re fine one minute then not the next..it happens if I move the pics to a different file also..I’ve tried everything to fix the problem but to no avail..a couple of times the pictures have got pixelated lines running horizontally across the screen and or have merged with a different pic altogether from my gallery. It’s so weird and I cannot find a solution to this problem anywhere online. Please help..any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Solution:  This type of problem usually occurs if you use a low quality microSD card on the phone and this card is being set as the default storage location for your photos and videos. There’s also the possibility that the problem is caused by a software glitch. To troubleshoot this particular issue just follow the steps we have outlined below.

Restart the phone – Press the power button for a few seconds then select the power off option. Wait for a couple of seconds then turn on the phone by pressing the power button. Restarting the phone will refresh the phone software and will usually fix certain software related glitches. Take some pictures then check if the issue still occurs.

Check if the problem occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode – Sometimes there are certain apps that you will download that can cause issues on the device. To check if the problem is caused by a downloaded app you need to start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode. Take pictures in this mode and check if they become corrupted.

Remove the microSD card from the phone – You can check if the problem is caused by a corrupted microSD card by removing it from the phone. The default storage location for photos will immediately shift back to the internal storage of the device. Take some pictures then check if the problem still occurs. If it doesn’t then you should consider getting a new microSD card.

Backup your phone data then do a factory reset – In case your phone does not have any microSD card or if you have checked the microSD card and determined that it is not causing the problem then this issue could be caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
