If an update is available then you should download and install it. It is important that you should check for carrier related software updates as this will usually address carrier related connectivity bugs.

Verify that your area has a good network signal

One of the main causes of this problem is the phone getting weak to no reception from the carrier. If you happen to be in an area where there is no reception then your phone will usually get the mobile network not available error. To verify if this is a coverage related issue you can check if your phone is getting a strong signal. You should also check if other devices under the same network are also having the same problem in your immediate vicinity to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a network outage. In case of an outage you should contact your carrier regarding this matter.

Perform a soft reset

Your phone will usually store temporary data that is constantly used to improve its performance. When this data gets corrupted it can cause this problem.
