How To Fix LG Prime 2 Won’t Turn On Issue

One problem that you might face with your device is when it refuses to turn on no matter what you do. If you have any important data stored in the phone then it’s going to be difficult to retrieve it unless the device is turned on. There are several factors that can cause this problem which can basically be narrowed down to a faulty hardware or a corrupted software. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps you need to do to fix this problem.

Charge the phone

One of the first things that you will need to do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a drained battery. When you use the phone for a long period of time it will soon run out of charge and shut down. If this is what’s causing the problem then a simple recharge will do the trick.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Fully charge the phone using its wall charger.
  • In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port in case charging using the wall charger fails to work.

Once the battery has been fully charged try turning on the phone. If it still does not turn on then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

Perform a soft reset

Try to refresh the phone software to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a corrupted temporary data. Although procedure is usually performed when the phone is unresponsive but should also work in this case. You can do this by simply restarting the device. Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down until the device powers off, approximately 8 seconds, then release.

Wipe the cache partition of the phone

Sometimes this problem can be caused by the cached data stored of the phone that has become corrupted. When this happens, it will usually cause certain issues to occur on the phone.
