How To Fix LG G7 ThinQ Cannot Connect To Bluetooth Device
Problem: LG G7 ThinQ receives Bluetooth pairing request. I click OK but pairing never takes place. Clicking Cancel does nothing. Continues to jingle request endlessly. No way to stop jingling request other than to turn off Bluetooth function. At one point I saw message about wrong password obtained. What password?? I would really like to pair the 2 devices but have given up trying.
Solution: Before performing any troubleshooting on the phone it is best to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If a software update is available then make sure to install it first.
Clear the Bluetooth cache
The first thing that you should do in this case is to clear the Bluetooth cache of the phone. This will usually fix most of the Bluetooth problems that you occurs on the phone.
- Open Settings
- Go to Application Manager
- Ensure all System Apps are shown by either swiping left or right or tapping More menu in the top right and choosing ‘Show system apps’
- Scroll down and select Bluetooth app. Then, tap Force Stop and then tap on Storage and then Clear Application Data
- Go back and do the same thing for the system apps called ‘Bluetooth Test’ and ‘Bluetooth MIDI Services’ (if shown) (Force Stop and then tap on Storage and then Clear Application Data)
- Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on
- Once completed, restart your phone
Pair the Bluetooth device
Try pairing the Bluetooth device again.
- From a Home screen tap Settings
- Choose Settings.
- Choose Bluetooth.
- Turn on Bluetooth.
- If one or more Bluetooth devices are available within the phone range, they will be listed. Choose the device that you want the phone to connect to. If the device is not listed, make sure that Bluetooth has been turned on the other device and that it is within range of the phone.
- If this screen appears, verify the code and choose PAIR. If this screen does not appear, enter the PIN code of the selected Bluetooth device and choose PAIR. This code can be found in the manual of the selected Bluetooth device (usually 0000 or 1234). The connection will be made. Follow any instructions on the other device.
- The pairing has been completed.
- The phone is connected to the Bluetooth device.
In case the above steps fails to work then you should verify if the Bluetooth device you are connecting to your phone is indeed working properly by connecting it to another phone.
