How to fix iPhone 13 Wi-Fi connected but no internet
If your iPhone 13 is connected to Wi-Fi but has no actual internet access, follow these steps to restore connectivity.
Method 1: Toggle Wi-Fi and Reconnect
- In Settings > Wi-Fi, turn Wi-Fi Off, wait 5 seconds, turn it back On.
- Re-select your network and enter the password if prompted.
- Test by opening a website.
Method 2: Restart the Router
Many “connected but no internet” issues originate from the router.
- Power cycle your router: unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, wait for full startup.
- Also restart the iPhone after router is back online.
Method 3: Forget Network and Re-add
Sometimes the saved configuration is corrupted.
- In Wi-Fi settings, tap the “i” next to your network, choose Forget This Network.
- Scan for networks again, select your SSID, and enter the password.
- Rejoin.
Method 4: Check for IP Conflict or DHCP Issues
If your router’s DHCP server is malfunctioning, the iPhone may get an IP but no proper gateway.
- Renew DHCP lease: Settings > Wi-Fi > tap “i” next to network > Configure IP > Renew.
- Alternatively, set a static IP (usually not needed).
Method 5: Update iOS and Router Firmware
Bugs in iOS or router firmware can cause connectivity failures.
- Update iPhone to latest iOS via Settings > General > Software Update.
- Check router manufacturer’s site for firmware updates, or access admin panel.
Method 6: Reset Network Settings
If the iPhone’s network stack is corrupted, resetting can help. This erases saved Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and cellular settings, but not personal data.
- Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- Enter passcode; iPhone restarts.
- Reconfigure Wi-Fi.
Method 7: Contact ISP
If the problem persists across devices on your network, the issue may be upstream: ISP outage, modem fault, or DNS problems. Contact your internet service provider.
Most “Wi-Fi connected but no internet” issues are resolved by restarting the router or resetting network settings on the iPhone.
