How to Fix Galaxy S26 Stuck on Boot Loop After Update
If your Galaxy S26 keeps restarting, loops on the Samsung logo, or never reaches the lock screen after an update, this guide walks through the most effective fixes to try first. Update-related bugs on Samsung phones often affect modem services, cached system components, permissions, or carrier settings, so it is worth working through the steps in order instead of jumping straight to a factory reset.
The solutions below are written for the Galaxy S26 but most of them also apply to the Plus and Ultra variants when the symptom is the same.
Fix #1: Restart the phone and re-check the symptom
A clean restart refreshes modem services, reloads the SIM interface, and clears temporary post-update glitches. Hold the Side and Volume Down keys, tap Restart, then test the problem again after the phone fully boots.
Fix #2: Check Airplane mode, carrier status, and the latest software patch
Turn Airplane mode on for 10 seconds, then turn it back off. Confirm that your carrier is not having a local outage and install any small follow-up firmware patch Samsung or your carrier may have pushed after the main update.
Fix #3: Re-seat accessories or inspect the affected hardware path
For SIM, charging, camera, and similar hardware-related issues, remove any case or accessory that could interfere, inspect the port or tray for debris, and make sure everything is seated correctly. Physical contact problems often show up right after an update even though the update is not the only cause.
Fix #4: Reset the relevant network, camera, or app settings path
If the issue affects connectivity, go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset mobile network settings or Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings as appropriate. If the issue is app-specific, clear the app cache and storage. For camera issues, reset Camera settings inside the Camera app.
Fix #5: Boot into Safe Mode
Safe Mode disables downloaded apps and can reveal whether a third-party app is triggering the issue. If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, remove recently installed apps, VPN tools, battery savers, or system cleaners one by one.
Fix #6: Wipe the cache partition
After major updates, old system cache can cause boot instability, battery drain, camera failures, and radio issues. Power the phone off, boot into recovery, choose Wipe cache partition, then restart normally.
Fix #7: Reset all settings
This step keeps your personal files but restores system settings that may have been corrupted by the update. Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset all settings, then set up key options again and retest.
Fix #8: Factory reset only if the issue started immediately after the update and nothing else works
Back up your data first. A factory reset can clear a broken migration, damaged cache, or incompatible app configuration that survived the update. If the problem remains after a clean setup, contact Samsung or your carrier because the issue may be hardware-related or require a newer patch.
